That draws the session to a close - a very low-key finish to a session which burst into life midway through the afternoon. Red Bull still on top, but not by as big a margin as people suspected. A long evening of analysis awaits for the teams!

Webber already locked in discussions with his engineers while other racers finish their laps.

The long runs continue as the flag comes out to end the session.

As it stands, Glock, Karthikeyan and Liuzzi are more than 107% outside the best time set by Webber. Of course qualifying will be very different tomorrow, but it shows the newer teams will have to be on their game to make it to the race.

The Red Bulls are finished for the day - Vettel and Webber pull into the pits in first and third places.
3'
Schumacher's tyres are losing their grip - Sutil breezes by and he's been no quicker than 21st today - and Petrov is not far behind.
4'
There's a bit of hope here for the Red Bull rivals - Alonso's 'race-pace' on a par with Webber and Vettel, as is Hamilton's.

Another close one! This time it's Sutil on the first corner with a Lotus.

Hamilton locks the tyres and very nearly runs into the back of Karthikeyan! The fist pumps in fury!
7'
Glock managing to hold up quite a few cars here in the final minutes. D'Ambrosio has gone quicker than the German this afternoon.
8'
Just two cars from the top 10 in the pits - Massa in eighth and Heidfeld in 10th.
9'
Most drivers have already done 25 laps or more in this session - they've been busy at a track which they know well from winter testing.
10'
Into the last ten minutes of the session - will we see any quick laps? Everyone happily running race simulations at present after a fast flurry in the middle of the afternoon.
11'
Karthikeyan runs wide in the HRT at Turn 3 - the yellow flag out but almost immediately withdrawn.
12'
Button gets a taste of race frustration - held up by Petrov for several corners before coasting past on the back straight.
13'
Rosberg ducks back into the pits having done eight laps and sitting in sixth place - but he's straight back out after another simulation.
14'
Red Bull, McLaren, Ferrari, and Mercedes occupy the first eight places on the timesheets. Renault and Sauber jostling behind them.
15'
Everybody back on track now with the exception of the Ferraris.
16'
This was the weekend that Lotus hoped to join the midfield. So far it's hard to say that's happened. Kovalainen lies 18th, but that says more about Force India's troubles than Lotus' successes.
17'
Hamilton running a 10-12 lap stint from here. At the exit of the pit lane he practices a start.
