Flag's out but the cars are still on track. Schumacher just eighth, and Hamilton also struggling... Button goes P6, Hamilton stays P4.

Schumacher and Massa are both slow... well off the pace. Rosberg goes third ahead of Hamilton who is still out there.
2'
Neither Red Bull is coming out for a second lap. They are confident they have done enough for a front row sweep. Let's see if they're right...
3'
Alonso is out for a second run, and Heidfeld comes out for his one and only attempt. Hamilton is also out.

It is back to the pits after that flurry of activity - 1-Vettel, 2-Webber, 3-Hamilton, 4-Alonso, 5-Button, 6-Petrov. The other four have not been out yet.
5'
Vettel stamps his authority with a 1:25.049 - four tenths quicker than his team-mate Webber. Stunning lap.
6'
1:25.454 for Webber, he goes quickest... Hamilton P2 1:25.618.
6'
Alonso fastest with a 1:25.851, but Vettel and Webber are flying...
7'
Petrov laps in 1:26.411 - that is his quickest of the day, but almost a second off Vettel's Q2 mark.
8'
Petrov is the first man on a hot lap, as Button gets instructions to work the brakes and charge up the KERS battery.

The 10-minute Q3 session is under way! It has become customary for teams to try only one hot lap on option tyres, but Petrov, Schumacher and Massa are out already.

The TV shows a neat thermal image that highlights the heaters on Mark Webber's tyres. And his engine, obviously.
-
Jerome D'Ambrosio has been given a five-place grid penalty for ignoring yellow flags. So he will be on the back row alongside Kobayashi.
-
Red Ears asks: "Everyone but Kamui Kobayashi easily meets the 107% rule. So what happens to the Sauber driver? Will there be a steward's dispensation which will allow him to run?" Kobayashi will be allowed to race, because he has got within 107% in practice. The rule basically exists to ensure chronically uncompetitive cars do not race, and that does not apply to Kobayashi - there is a degree of common sense that can be applied.
-
Five minutes until the start of Q3.
-
OUT: 11-Barrichello, 12-Sutil, 13-Di Resta, 14-Maldonado, 15-Perez, 16-Buemi, 17-Alguersuari.

The chequered flag is out but still plenty of laps to be completed... Heidfeld is on a charge looking to dump Barrichello out.... which he does! Massa goes seventh.

Cracking lap from Rosberg, 1:25.801 - and Di Resta puts Massa into the drop zone! It's all happening...
