Izzy Atkin, still just 19, signalled her PyeongChang potential at the end of the 2016-17 season when she won a bronze medal at the Freestyle Skiing World Championships in slopestyle.

Just two weeks earlier, Atkin became the first British woman to win a World Cup ski slopestyle event when taking gold in Silvaplana, Switzerland.
Atkin was born in Boston and initially competed for United States before switching to Great Britain at the age of 15. Her father's side of the family all live in the United Kingdom.
Her notable improvement in the 2016-17 season helped contribute to an increase in funding for British Ski and Snowboard from UK Sport and the National Lottery, with an extra £212,000 being allocated for their Winter Olympic budget.
