Tiger Woods will play in his first PGA Tour tournament in seven months when he tees off at The Genesis Invitational next week. Woods confirmed on Twitter on Friday that he would be taking part at the Los Angeles-based tournament. Woods has had an injury-plagued year as he continues to contend with the after-effects to his body following a car crash in February 2021.

Tiger Woods has confirmed he will make his comeback at the PGA Tour next week at the Genesis Invitational.
The American golf legend has made only a few appearances in the last year as he continues his recovery from a serious car accident in February 2021.
The 15-time major winner will play for the first time in seven months as he sets his sights on The Masters at Augusta, Georgia, at the beginning of April.
Woods tweeted: "I'm ready to play an ACTUAL PGA Tour event next week."
The Genesis Invitational's official Twitter account responded: "See you at Riv [Riviera Country Club]".
Woods' last tournament was the British Open last July where he missed the weekend cut at St Andrews.
Last year Woods finished 47th at Augusta and has struggled with his walking ever since the car accident.
Woods was also diagnosed with plantar fasciitis last year; a foot issue that causes pain in the heel and arch of the foot.
The 47-year-old played alongside his son Charlie at the PNC Championship (a father-son challenge) in Orlando, Florida in December, but he admitted he ignored medical advice to rest to take part.
"The plantar fasciitis is no fun," Woods said in December.
"Now I get to truly recover and heal and progress forward on this because there's so many good things that I've been able to do physically, to be able to hit the golf ball and practice and do everything in a standstill.
"But I haven't been able to get from point A to point B, and obviously going to work on this."
