The six-year-old gelding put in the work over the final 100 yards to pocket a ninth win in his last 10 starts.
Victory came following defeat in Kentucky a month ago and got the Charles LoPresti-trained horse firmly back on the winning trail.
Joël Rosario on Za Approval just beat Rafael Bejarano and Silentio to second.
The total prize fund for the Group 1 race was $2 million.
Meanwhile, Secret Circle and his jockey Martin Garcia won the Breeders’ Cup Sprint, having come out of nowhere 300 yards from the finish to canter home untroubled by Laugh Track and Mike Smith. Javier Castellano came third on Gentleman’s Bet.
Victory was the Bob Baffert-trained four-year-old’s first Group 1 win but, more importantly, his seventh in nine races.
Magician also hit the right note in California, winning the Breeders’ Cup Classic.
Ryan Moore guided Magician past William Buick and The Fugue in a blistering dash to the post, having looked beaten in the final 100 yards.
Even all the racing skill of Gary Stevens, third on Indy Point, was not enough to hold off the European one-two.
Contested over the same distance as the Prix de l'Arc - a mile and a half- the prestigious event’s purse of $3 million would have put a smile on the face of trainer Aiden O'Brien.
