German Olympic champion Natalie Geisenberger retained her women's luge World Championship title with victory in Sigulda, Latvia.
The Sochi 2014 singles and mixed team winner clocked a new track record of 42.014 seconds in her first run, putting down a marker for the rest of the field.
And the 27-year-old, who has won the last two World Cups and is 229 points clear in this year's standings, added a fourth World Championships gold medal to her growing collection with a combined time of 1:24.124 minutes.
Russian Tatiana Ivanova finished 0.316 behind the dominant Geisenberger to claim silver, while German Tatjana Huefner secured bronze in 1:24.463.
Olympic bronze medallist Erin Hamlin placed fourth, falling agonisingly short of winning a first American singles medal at a worlds held outside North America.
