Germany's Max Langenhan continued his super streak of World Cup wins with his fifth consecutive title in St. Moritz.
The 23-year-old luger swept home in a total time of 2:13.596 on the Swiss artificial track, just 11 milliseconds ahead of compatriot and men's sprint world champion Felix Loch.
Latvia's Kristers Aparjods improved from 11th after his first run to take bronze while overall leader Dominik Fischnaller of Italy could only manage eighth.
And with just one more event to go in Winterberg next weekend, Loch will hope to overhaul a 36-point gap to Fischnaller, while Langenhan has the chance to improve on his third-place position in the men's singles standings.
There was more success for Germany in the doubles, with Jessica Degenhardt/Cheyenne Rosenthal taking the women's event ahead of Italian pair Andrea Voetter and Marion Oberhofer.
And in the men's doubles, Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt led fellow Germans Toni Eggert and Sascha Benecken for the third time in a row.
There is still all to race for in Winterberg with 44 points separating Wendl/Arlt from Eggert/Benecken, while Degenhardt/Rosenthal have work to do to make up 20 points to the Italians.
