Two-time Olympic luge champion Felix Loch must wish every race could be staged at Oberhof.
One week after losing his world title to Austria's Wolfgang Kindl, the 27-year-old German was back on top of the podium at his favourite track.
Loch won the first of his five world titles here and now has seven consecutive victories in various competitions at the Thuringian Forest venue.
Russia's Roman Repilov claimed silver to maintain his overall World Cup advantage while Andi Langenhan ranked third.
Former world champion Semen Pavlichenko now sits third in the season standings, just behind Loch, after his seventh place.
"I'm delighted to take my seventh win in a row in Oberhof," said Loch.
"Roman Repilov is a tough competitor. He had a perfect run and broke the track record.
"I'm delighted I've finally managed another win. This has been an extremely difficult season so far, so a win really does feel good."
