30/30 – MARTIN CLAIMS VICTORY!

What a fantastic finish to this race. Was nothing between the two title rivals, but it is the Spaniard who holds his nerve brilliantly to deny Bagnaia at the death. His first victory since 2021 and he is right in the title hunt now. A breathless German Grand Prix!

29/30

29/30 – LEADERS COLLIDE!

It had to happen as Bagnaia touches Martin and it throws off the world champion as the Spaniard races clear. So much swarming. That might cost the Italian so much in this race. Martin heading for victory on the final lap unless there is more late drama.

26/30

26/30 – MARTIN HOLDS OFF BAGNAIA

The world champion threw the kitchen sink at Jorge with four laps to go, but the Spaniard refuses to let the Italian through. Wow. This is heady stuff. Could easily have collided there, but no way through for Bagnaia, who is hovering all over his world title rival. Blocking brilliance from Martin.

23/30

23/30 – MARTIN HITS BACK TO LEAD

This is a magical duel. Officially 96,000 in attendance and they see Martin take a fine line on the inside to go past the world champion. Almost scrapes his opponent's left boot. Both men in fine form on equal bikes. This could be a glorious fight to the finish. A MotoGP duel in the sun at the German Grand Prix.

21/30

21/30 – BAGNAIA MAKES HIS MOVE

Well, with nine laps remaining the world champion eclipses Martin with a delightful piece of overtaking. Martin forced to play catch-up after enjoying the lead for several laps. Coming to the business end brings Francesco to the fore. Premier class of MotoGP and the cream is rising to the top.

18/30

18/30 – BINDER SUFFERS DISASTER

Just misjudged turn 8 and his speed sees him tumble out of the podium positions and out of the race. Helped to his feet, but that is a crushing blow for Brad. Hopefully, only his pride is dented.

15/30

15/30 – MARTIN THE HALFWAY LEADER

Jorge's lead moves to a handy 0.6 seconds over the world champion Bagnaia. Martin with a lap of 21.3 seconds as he begins to crank up the pace. Get the feeling he is making his move at this moment in time to get the gap up to a second heading for the finale.

13/30

13/30 – MAVERICK FORCED TO RETIRE

Maverick Vinales back in the garage for the inquest with smoke coming from the Aprilia that ends his race before the first 10 laps are complete. Disappointing. Martin continues to set the pace ahead of Bagnaia.

11/30

11/30 – BINDER ON THE CHARGE!

Look at this piece of brilliance from Brad Binder. He is up to third after charging past Marini. Martin still holding the lead by about half a second.

8/30

8/30 – TRACK HEATING UP

Track temps up to 40. Sizzling. Martin continues to speed ahead up front ahead of Bagnaia and Binder. Gap of 0.4 between the leading two men. So all to play for.

5/30

5/30 – MILLER'S MISERY

Here is the moment Zarco overhauled the Aussie powerhouse.

4/30

4/30 – MAGIC FROM MARTIN

Supreme from Martin as he goes beyond Bagnaia into Turn 12 with a supreme piece of handling. All to play for out there with Martin clearly in the mood.

3/30

3/30 – MILLER FALLS BACK

Was superb start from Jack, but he loses four places after a sluggish exit in turn 11. A few glum faces in the Red Bull team as he falls back.

1/30 – LIGHTS OUT!

19 riders are off and running for this edition of the German GP. A brilliant start from Jack Miller after the formation lap to get his nose in front. But Francesco Bagnaia quickly regains his authority. A rapid opening lap and suddenly Jorge Martin takes over. Lead being dished out between the leading men.

13:00

WHO WILL BE KING OF THE RING?

30 laps and 75 miles of the German Grand Prix is upon us folks. Lets get ready to rumble. Will Francesco Bagnaia convert his pole for another victory? Or can someone come from the pack to make their mark at the Sachsenring? 100,000 fans in attendance at the most demanding track on the circuit. Riders are on their warm-up lap.

12:55

TIME FOR THE NATIONAL ANTHEM!

The German national anthem is a classy effort, brilliant to get you in the mood for some racing in building the tension. One of the best, it must be said. Not long now until lights out!

12:45

FEELING THE HEAT!

Here is the starting grid for today. Looks like it is going to be a hot one out there with umbrellas providing some shade. A case of managing the tyres as well as you can. Ducati hoping to maintain their strength.

12:30

MARQUEZ FORCED TO WITHDRAW!

A big blow for Marc at a circuit he loves. The eight-time world champion suffered a small fracture to his left thumb after a fifth crash of the week in warm-up on Sunday. He will hopefully be back for the Dutch GP next week.

WELCOME TO THE GERMAN GRAND PRIX!

World championship leader Francesco Bagnaia is chasing a fourth win of the season and would dearly love a maiden victory at the German Grand Prix, the seventh round of the campaign.

He starts on pole and is out to conquer the Sachsenring for the first time in his career, but can German GP winning machine Marc Marquez claim a ninth success here in MotoGP starting from a lowly seventh on the grid?

Fabio Quartararo emerged victorious last year, but will need to come from P12 on the if he is to upset the odds today.

We are building towards a 1pm start in what should be a fascinating battle for glory at the historic circuit.
