CHAMPIONS CUP LIVE: Toulouse v Exeter Chiefs – Chiefs' young guns face stern test against five-time champions in quarter-final clash

Classic Toulouse try. First opportunity and they strike. Exeter get caught out and outnummbered on the wing, calm handling from Akhi and Lebel and Ntamack takes the spoils with a wonderful support line.

Wonderful start from the Chiefs who apply some solid pressure on the hosts in the first five minutes. They win a turnover and force a penalty for Sladeto slot with ease.

Exeter hit Toulouse hard and fast. Strong carries from Feyi-Waboso and Jenkins, and Slade is inches away from the try line until the Chiefs knock it on.

Chiefs manage to win a penalty in just under a minute at the breakdown, good start. Harvey Skinner knocks the ball into touch and Chiefs have their first foray into Toulouse territory.

"You can tell already it's going to be some atmosphere here today.

"We've had a good training week. They looked very focus this morning, they're very aware they're gonna have to work very very hard in difficult conditions, and they're gonna have to stick at it."

"They’re a team that love the contact zone, they love to dominate the tackles, their line s peed and the ball carrying in the ruck area.

"Notably their line speed, I don’t think we’ve played a team that’s as aggressive with their line speed. Hopefully we’ve worked hard enough to find some solutions to that aggressive line speed."

After returning from clinching Sevens silverware, Antoine Dupont has been lauded as "the best player on the planet," by TNT Sports pundit Lawrence Dallaglio.

No one thought Harlequins could travel to Bordeaux, score 42 points, or come away with a victory, but they did. It makes Exeter's chances look a little bit more bright.

The Chiefs have yet to win an away game this year, but a win in Toulon last December will fill fans with hope that winning away in France won't be impossible. And with the likes of Ross Vintcent, Immanuel Feyi-Waboso and Josh Hodge, they do have players that can hurt Toulouse if the game opens up.

Toulouse meanwhile are rightly favourites with their star-studded backline, and on average will represent far more of a threat than what the Chiefs are facing in the Premiership each week. It'll be up to Exeter to stop not just Dupont, but Pita Ahki, Romain Ntamack, and a powerfully dominant pack.
