England were far from perfect today, but despite a few sloppy errors and a lack of discipline they defended superbly and took most of their chances ruthlessly.

Ireland look to have the breakthrough as Gordon D'Arcy rolls off the maul - but the Irish centre puts his foot in touch. England knock forward from the throw-in, though - Ireland scrum, 8m out.

Ireland keep pushing forward despite being repelled time and again - they're back in the England 22m and coming up in waves trying to inch toward the try line.

There was yet more immense defence from Tuilagi and Tindall there as they gang up on Tribmle this time, dumping him to the floor and stealing the ball. With those two pitbulls in the middle of the park England look fearsome.

Ireland go for touch again, determined to score a try - but they've turned it over, and Wilkinson clears despite Murphy's attempts to keep the ball in play.

The scrum collapses and Ireland have a penalty. 10 minutes left, 11 points in it... It's a big ask, with the rain still pouring down.

Ireland finally make a mistake, and Haskell looks to have broken free - but Tindall had knocked on, Ireland get a scrum.

High tackle by Armitage but he gets away with it - yet Ireland keep the ball and are still in it - with O'Connell's charge-down setting Sexton in motion up the right flank.

Ireland keep patient and keep coming forward though, and they're into the England 22m now...
