Ben Youngs has spoken after making his final England appearances.

"I am delighted for the boys we got the result," he said to ITV.

"It was a huge effort last week and then we were fast out of the blocks, we found a rhythm and found a way. We are pleased to end with a win. We wanted to be here tomorrow night, but it is still a nice win tonight."

"The game has given me so much. I have got huge friendships and bonds not just in this England team, but people I have played against for years.

"I have a bucketload of memories and I am very grateful, so thank you everyone. I will have a beer and enjoy myself with the boys tonight."

Theo Dan has been speaking to ITV after his try-scoring performance.

"We made it hard for ourselves. We got off to a really good start, we would have hoped we would have pushed on from the first 20, but we know Argentina are a team which are never going to go away.

"Our ill-discipline let them back into the game, but we're a team that grinds out the result, and I'm proud to be part of this team and pleased to get the bronze.

"We're incredibly disappointed and heartbroken about what happened last weekend. The performance we put out was one we can be proud of and we said we didn't want that to be a one-off.

"We want to build, we want to be a new England team - one which doesn't go away and grinds out results. Today was a step forward to achieving that."

It's not the outcome English rugby fans were hoping for, but considering the state the team was in coming into this tournament, a third-place finish is no mean feat.

England's chaotic build-up ended with a historic first defeat to Fiji at Twickenham, but they brushed off the negativity to cruise through their pool unscathed and battle past the Fijians in the quarter-finals to get some revenge.

Strangely, the best and most promising performance of the tournament came in England's one loss rather than their six wins.

The fight they showed against the Springboks in the semis has to be a blueprint for Borthwick going forward, although inevitably there will be calls for this side to express itself a bit more than it has in France.

Argentina are pushed back, and then England manage to pinch the ball on the floor!

Big push by Argentina in the scrum, but England survive and Care boots the ball downfield. But the Pumas go wide and Carreras storms all the way up to the 22!

They have a great attacking platform here inside the final two minutes.

That could be a big moment. England have some defending to do, but Argentina are pinged for accidental offside with three minutes on the clock.

The men in white will be happy to watch those seconds tick away as they get ready to scrum...

Sanchez opts to go for the posts...but he drags his effort wide!

A big missed opportunity for the Pumas, that.

Argentina change direction in attack off the back of the scrum and England are pinged at the breakdown, Lawrence not rolling away.

The penalty is out about five metres from the touchline so a tricky kick, so Argentina have a big decision to make.

Big scrum from Argentina at halfway and suddenly they're off, breaking down the blindside to make ground all the way up to the 22.

England rush up in defence to push them back, but Lawrence is pinged for a knock-on in the tackle.

Arundell's low-key night is over, as Lawrence comes on.

For Argentina, Bello, Sclavi and Alemanno have entered the fray for Kodela, Gallo and Rubiolo.

In the meantime, Lawrence has knocked on and it's ANOTHER scrum. It's been one of those nights. Ten minutes to go.

I know it's a third-place playoff but...this is tense! Argentina get back on the attack and win a penalty for offside.

It's bang in front of the posts, so Sanchez decides to kick, but they did hesitate to consider going to the corner. The veteran fly-half slots it, and it's a three-point game again.

Erm...Care attempts a drop goal he would rather forget, but he at least did so because England had penalty advantage off the scrum.

Farrell splits the posts and England have a six-poiunt lead once more. 6/6 from the tee today for the skipper.

England start to put a few phases together, but eventually it's knocked on and Argentina have a scrum just in front of their 22m line.

England now have three natural fly-halves on the pitch in Farrell, Ford and Smith. But the kicking game continues, as Farrell kicks away a promising opportunity just outside the 22.

The Pumas manage to clear their lines as they deal with aerial bomb after aerial bomb. But Mallia has to run out a Smith grubber and England have the lineout in Pumas territory.
