Judd Trump was at his effervescent best at the World Championship against Tom Ford on Friday. Judd Trump opened up an 11-5 lead against Tom Ford at the Crucible on Friday.
The 2019 world champion was in dazzling form, with the 34-year-old producing several passages of play that left Eurosport commentators Joe Johnson and Phil Studd purring.
First, Trump pulled out some exhibition stuff on the way to pocketing a century in frame nine.
“He just does not know when to stop potting balls,” said 1986 world champion Johnson as 'Juddernaut' doubled a red.
“The naughty snooker is saved for when the frame is won,” added Phil Studd alongside Johnson.
“A dazzling break of 107. What a start to the afternoon for Judd Trump. His first century of this year’s World Championship.”

However, Trump was not finished there. Frame 15 saw him produce a trademark long red that made an almighty racket as it thudded against the back of the pocket.
“Emphatic,” purred Studd. “He is just so good at those long shots,” added Johnson.

Trump’s break-building and shot-making had him closing on victory with a session to spare. And as that session came to a close, he saved his best for last with a passage of play marked by brilliance.
First came a pink to the middle pocket with substantial screw to leave him plum on a red, then followed another hugely impressive pink and an even better red.
“Have you ever seen shots like these,” began Johnson. “That is incredible, slamming the pink into that middle pocket and screwing the cue ball back across the table. He just loves to entertain. We love to watch him.”
The red that followed, though, left him up in baulk, hampered by the cushion with only partial sight of the final red.
“Pot one from there,” challenged Johnson.
Challenge accepted as Trump swerved the cue ball around the green to drop the long-range red in.
“Hey, hey,” blurted out Johnson in disbelief. “Swerving round the green to pot the red and it even brings a smile from Tom Ford.”
“Seeing is believing,” concurred Studd. “There is nothing safe when Trump is at the table. There is nothing he can’t do with a cue ball.”
Trump will aim to wrap up a quarter-final place on Saturday morning, when the pair resume.
