GAME, SET AND MATCH RODDICK! Verdasco saves another match point on the Roddick serve aided by a lovely volley at the net. He fails with a lob seconds later as Roddick slams down a smash to bring up another match point, but the ball kicks up off the line on the second serve as Roddick eases through to an eighth semi at Queen's. He will face Andy Murray there.
2-5
Verdasco saves two match points on his own serve before a couple of superb winners on the forehand side give the Spaniard a hold. Not sure how much difference it is going to make, but at least Roddick will need to serve it out on his own serve.
1-5
Verdasco with more than an air of resignation engulfing his game as Verdasco continues to miss in trying to keep the ball deep. Not really applying enough pressure to Roddick in the rallies. A 5-1 lead now for the American player.

BREAK TO RODDICK! A double break for the third seed. Verdasco all over the show on serve in this game. Errors flying off his racket as he falls three break points down. Two big serves rescue the first break points before an ace carries him back to deuce. Brave, brave serving. But he dumps another forehand long in the next point. Roddick retrieves a couple of difficult balls before gliding a little backhand down the line that is too good for Verdasco.

Verdasco to serve in the fifth game of the second set. Vital that he holds in this one.

Players back on court after the rain delay and we are almost ready to go again here.

So the rain is on...play has been suspended due to the rain. We will be back with this as soon as the rain subsides.
1-3
Roddick cements the break for a 3-1 lead, but the rain is on heavily and they are being forced off. Disappointing for the players, but surely only a matter of time before Roddick reaches the last four at Queen's. Verdasco has saved two out of five break points in this match. Roddick yet to face a break point.

BREAK TO RODDICK! Roddick makes no mistake as he converts another break point. Verdasco failing to stave off the threat of the third seed on the big points in this match. Looks all over bar the shouting. The clouds overhead might yet save Verdasco...
1-1
Better signs for Verdasco in that second game. Seems to be reading the Roddick serve a whole lot better, but Roddick manages to escape from the game with his serve intact despite being forced to deuce.

WARD WINS! Ward forced to stave off a break point, but he gets the job done on his second match point with a thumping serve. Superb victory for Ward. He will face Adrian Mannarino in the last eight later in the day.
0-1
Verdasco was another break point down in that game, but he saves the day with a big first serve. Another couple of fine backhands hit the mark as the Spanish players comes out of that game with hit serve intact.
5-3
Ward breaks for a 4-3 lead against the defending champion Querrey before he holds in the next game. Querrey keeps it together to close to 5-4, but Ward is coming out to serve for a place in the last eight.

SET TO RODDICK! Roddick puts the finishing touches to a highly impressive set with another immaculate service game. Roddick never really in any danger on his serve.
2-5
Verdasco comes up with two aces in that game to hold to love. A little bit too late, one would suspect. Roddick ready to serve for this set.
3-3
Querrey and Ward continue to trade games out on Court 1. 3-3 there now.
1-5
Roddick with a 9-3 lead over Verdasco in their head to head meetings. That looks like becoming 10-3 in favour of Roddick. The number three forced to deuce in that game after a couple of timely returns by Verdasco, but Roddick pounces to slam a forehand away in mid-court before Verdasco thumps a forehand long. Roddick needs one more game for the set.
2-2
Querrey and Ward all level now at 2-2. Games on serve in the third set.

RODDICK BREAKS! Verdasco going for the lines and not hitting them as Roddick is handed another two break points for a double break. The world number 23 saves the first point with a big serve, but Roddick sents a forehand spinning beyond him seconds later to open up a 4-1 lead. First set surely all over.
1-3
Roddick cements the break with a confident hold to love. Verdasco will need to get motoring if he is to slow down the Roddick express train. The American looking well in the mood.
