GAME, SET AND MATCH WARD! Two hours and six minutes sees Ward claim victory. That was a stunning break when he needed it most. A wonderful victory for Ward, who gets the job done with his eighth match point. He will face Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. That was terrific. Full credit to the underdog to come through that. He played a fine final game of the match to win it.
5-4
Mannarino saved two break points in the eighth game before Ward does likewise in this one with a couple of heavy groundstrokes. Superb stuff from Ward to hold off the French player, who looked all set to break. A terrific response from Ward. Can he get over the line? Mannarino will serve to stay alive.
4-4
Ward had a chance to break there, but could not come up with the big points when he needed them. A stunning drop shot from Mannarino was key to that hold. How big is that hold? Ward to serve as we hit the business end of this match.
4-3
Another impressive service game from Ward when he needed it. Ward has suddenly been given a new lease of life. Moving well and the crowd are getting right behind him. No signs of another break there. The Prime Minister David Cameron has joined the crowd to watch this one.
3-3
Mannarino comes up with a solid service game when the pressure was on. This match could go anyway now. Ward has played his way out of that mini-crisis. All square in this third set and on serve.
3-2
One double fault from Ward, but that does not hinder his progress as he drives a fabulous forehand down the line line for a 3-2 lead. Great response. He has come roaring back from losing the opening two game of this set. We are back on serve. Pressure back on Mannarino.

WARD BREAKS! Superb response from Ward. Terrific stuff. A couple of superbly engineered points from Ward is enough to see him break back. Really working the Frenchman all over the court. Suddenly a lot of the fans from Centre Court are in Court 1.
1-2
Ward throws down ace number six to stop the rot. Can't afford to be broken again or it is surely all over. Dropped one point on serve there. Mannarino is looking a lot fresher than he was in that second set.
0-2
A really poor game from Ward as Mannarino holds to love to open up a 2-0 lead. Ward needing to discover some of his early magic. Long way back.

BREAK TO MANNARINO! Ward just disappeared for a comfort break Going for one hour and 33 minutes out there. Didn't do him any good as he drops serve at the outset of the second set. Just what the Brit didn't want. In a spot of bother now.

SET TO MANNARINO! An astonishing tie-break. The British underdog had SIX match points, but could not convert any of them as the French player slipped a lovely drop shot over the net to complete a 16-14 win in the breaker. Ward missed a huge chance in that set. Can he lift his spirits? Tough from here on in.

A fine hold for Ward when he needed it. Was taken to deuce there, but composed himself to hold serve. Still has a golden chance to get the job done in two sets out there.

MANNARINO BREAKS! Ward wins the first point of the game, but that is the only point he wins as the Frenchman asks the question and doesn't receive an answer. We are back on serve late in this second set.
5-4
Mannarino holds, but he will have to break Ward for the first time in this set otherwise he is heading out and the British unknown will be through to the last four.
5-3
All seems to be slipping away from Mannarino. He lead 30-15, but the British player comes roaring back to hold. The French player thumps his racket to the floor after missing an easy ball from mid-range. He will serve to stay alive.
4-3
BREAK TO WARD! What a chance now for the British player, who is serving for a 5-3 lead. The world number 215 looking as solid as rock. Two games from a place in the last four.
2-3
Games continue on serve in this second set with Ward next to serve. Mannarino has certainly picked up the pace from the first set, but no breaks as yet.
1-2
Mannarino with a 2-1 lead over Ward early in the second set. Games on serve with the British man serving.

SET TO WARD! A very impressive opening set from Ward. Superb stuff from the British underdog. Now one set away from a spot in the last four of this tournament. What a story this is turning out to be.
5-2
Mannarino serves to save the first set against Ward. He keeps Ward honest by making him serve for it, but surely only delaying the inevitable. Opportunity knocks for Ward in this one. He will serve for the set.
