Swedish fans may have been hoping to see a famous name make a run on home soil after Bjorn Borg's son Leo won his opening match, but the youngster fell to defeat in the second round against Federico Coria. The Argentinian will face compatriot and defending champion Francisco Cerundolo next, while third seed Lorenzo Musetti edged fellow Italian Matteo Arnaldo to make the quarter-finals.

Leo Borg’s run at the Bastad Open came to an end with defeat to Federico Coria, but third seed Lorenzo Musetti and defending champion Francisco Cerundolo reached the quarter-finals.
Wild card Borg, the son of Swedish tennis great Bjorn Borg, achieved his first Tour-level victory in the opening round against fellow Swede Elias Ymer.
But hopes of a deep run on home turf were ended when he fell 6-4 6-2 to Argentina’s Coria.
The world No. 113 outclassed his 20-year-old opponent in an 86-minute victory, breaking four times in a comfortable victory.
Next up for Coria is a clash with compatriot and fourth seed Cerundolo, who defeated French talent Luca van Assche 6-2 6-3.
The 24-year-old is enjoying a strong season and hit the landmark of 30 Tour-level victories in 2023 as he looks to defend the first of two career ATP titles he has to his name, the other coming at Eastbourne this year.
Among his possible rivals for the title is Musetti, who took out fellow Italian Matteo Arnaldi 6-3 4-6 7-6(5).
A deciding tie-break was required to split the two on the clay courts of Bastad, but the third seed had enough left in the tank to edge a two hour, 38 minute contest.
Musetti, 21, eventually converted his seventh match point to reach his fifth quarter-final on clay this season and seventh overall on the ATP Tour.
The world No. 16 will face Filip Misolic in the last eight after the Austrian qualifier beat Slovakia’s Jozef Kovalik 4-6 7-6(6) 6-4.
The remaining quarter-finalists will be decided on Thursday, with Casper Ruud, Andrey Rublev and Alexander Zverev among the big names looking to progress.
