GAME, SET, MATCH - MEDVEDEV! Medvedev 6-4, 6-2 Ruud: The US Open champion and defending ATP Finals champion will face Djokovic or Zverev in Sunday's final after a dismantling of Ruud!
*MEDVEDEV 5-2 RUUD (6-4): Double break! That is surely the victory in the bag now for Medvedev who is a double break up in this second set! The Russian will serve for it.
MEDVEDEV 4-2 RUUD* (6-4): The US Open champion consolidates the break and is now just two games away from a place in the final. It's a long way back for Ruud from here.
*MEDVEDEV 3-2 RUUD (6-4): Break! A couple of forehand errors from Ruud and Medvedev grabs the break that could send him towards the finish line in this semi-final!
MEDVEDEV 2-2 RUUD* (6-4): As much as Ruud needs to try something different on the Medvedev serve, it's difficult to know what. This is incredible serving from the Russian.
*MEDVEDEV 1-2 RUUD (6-4): Impressive! Ruud is introducing some serious pace on his forehand and that is allowing him to finish off points earlier at the net.
MEDVEDEV 1-1 RUUD* (6-4): Ruud is surely going to have to try something different against the Medvedev serve. He's defending well, but getting no real chance to attack.
*MEDVEDEV 0-1 RUUD (6-4): A good hold by Ruud at the start of the second set. The Norwegian has been competitive, but needs to find a way to make inroads on the Medvedev serve.
FIRST SET, MEDVEDEV! Medvedev 6-4 Ruud: Just a single break in it in the first set, but Medvedev has been in control of this match so far. Can Ruud comeback from a set down again?
*MEDVEDEV 5-4 RUUD: A love hold by Ruud who aces Medvedev on the first of three game points. He has at least asked the question of the world number two.
MEDVEDEV 5-3 RUUD*: How do you find a way past Medvedev? The Russian was a brick wall at the net on game point there! Ruud just couldn't pass the world number two!
*MEDVEDEV 4-3 RUUD: Ruud stays within touching distance of Medvedev. His serving is looking good at the moment. That will need to stay the case against the Russian.
MEDVEDEV 4-2 RUUD*: Just too good from the defending champion at the moment. Ruud is sticking with him, it's competitive, but he can't hit through Medvedev.
*MEDVEDEV 3-2 RUUD: That was a bit of a let off for Ruud. Medvedev had two break points, but the Russian played a series of loose points and the opportunity passed him by.
MEDVEDEV 3-1 RUUD*: An ill-judged drop shot and then a backhand into the tramlines for 40-40 gave Ruud an opportunity, but he couldn't convert and Medvedev holds.
*MEDVEDEV 2-1 RUUD: Break! A double fault from Ruud at 40-40 gave Medvedev a break point, which he saved. But he couldn't save a second one. Medvedve's forehand doing damage.
