THE 2023 NITTO ATP FINALS WINNER ADDRESSES THE CROWD
Speaking in Italian, Djoker congratulates Sinner and his team for the week. He adds it's not the result Jannik wants today (obviously), but congratulates him on everything he's done this year and wishes him a good season in 2024.
He adds that Sinner has 'all the chances' to become No.1 in the world and win a Grand Slam in the future.
He also praises his team and for their special work in helping him to achieve such success at the age of 36. He salutes the passionate home crowd, who also gave him some support despite wanting the Italian to triumph.

GAME, SET AND MATCH! - DJOKOVIC 6-3 6-3 SINNER
It’s all over! Novak Djokovic rounds off an irresistible 2023 season as he break once again to secure a stand-alone, record seventh title ATP finals title.
Sinner fought hard in the second set, but couldn't snare the break back and ended up double faulting on match point as the Serb defied the Italian crowd in one hour and 43 minutes.

DJOKOVIC 6-3 5-3 SINNER
There’s no doubt Djokovic has slipped from the halcyon heights of the first set, but he’s still edging what is now a bit of a scrap.
Sinner unloads a big backhand up the line to excite the crowd at 0-30 but then snatches at another attempt at a blockbuster and from there Nole manages to turn the tables and make deuce.
Jannik has a massive opportunity to seize a break point with a mid-court forehand but, again, he is over-zealous and rips it into the net.
Novak jumps all over the reprieve and licks the line with a big serve to move within a game of the title.

Sinner moves up to seven aces for the match but once again he is put through the mill by the World No.1 in an epic, topsy-turvy game.
Djokovic has a chance to tee up a break point from deuce but a tepid smash is too cautious and a forehand pass helps Jannik resist following some magnificent defence.
The duo face-off over a series of deuce points and Sinner has umpteen chances to put it to bed, but the longer it goes on the more you sense The Djoker may strike.
The 24-time major winner slices long on a break point but dominates the net to earn a second chance.
Once again Sinner survives and then gets a big slice of fortune when Nole volleys long with the court at his mercy.
This time the No.4 seed finds the clutch serve, nailing a seventh ace to conclude a 17-minute hold!

Leading into this game, Nole had only dropped two points on serve ALL match, but he comes under the cosh here.
The Serb’s level dips for the first time as he flashes a forehand long and then hooks one way wide after Sinner had got a foothold in the game with a sweeping crosscourt backhand winner.
There is a hush of expectancy from the crowd, but they should have known better as the Serbinator locks in on his target, landing two clutch serve to make deuce and leave the Italian shaking his head in disbelief.
Jannik can’t conjure up any more magic and ends up skewing wide under pressure on the next two points as Novak pulled off the recovery to stay within sight of sealing the title in two.

DJOKOVIC 6-3 3-2 SINNER
It almost seems like a forlorn task when Djokovic is hitting such heights, but Sinner’s attitude remains upbeat as he finds some important first serves, pulling off a hold to 15 via a serve-plus-one wrong-footer and a smash to finish.

YOU SAID IT, BORIS!

DJOKOVIC 6-3 3-1 SINNER
It is yet another love hold for the 24-time major winner as he sizzles down THREE aces and a blistering first-serve winner to rapidly maintain his advantage on the board.

DJOKOVIC 6-3 2-1 SINNER
Sinner ends a marathon run of points against him and works hard to resist in a lung-bursting rally just to make 30-30 from 0-30 down.
He fist-pumps and tries to get the crowd engaged again but Novak is unimpressed and presses for the double break.
Sinner saves one BP with a big serve and then gets a huge slice of luck on a second from deuce as Nole hits the top of the tape on a sitter of pass and sees it bounce long.
The World No.1 holds his hand to his mouth in shock and frustration but an acute angle on a crosscourt forehand tees up a third opportunity.
Sinner conjures up a fourth ace to wipe that out and two more clutch serves somehow see the Italian pull of a great escape.

DJOKOVIC 6-3 2-0 SINNER
There’s no let up. Djokovic lands a ninth ace to clock up anther clean hold and consolidate.
That stand-alone record seventh ATP finals title looks to be heading his way with Jannik all at sea.

It’s a disaster for Jannik.

DJOKOVIC 5-3 SINNER
The depth and precision of Novak’s return has been Grade A so far this evening and it leads to a nervy, rushed backhand shank from his opponent to crank up further heat at 30-30.
Sinner needs something special and delivers in timely fashion with a pair of thumping aces.
Djokovic will now serve for the set.

DJOKOVIC 5-2 SINNER
Well, that went by in an absolute blur.
Djokovic canters to the love hold and is now just one game from taking the set with Sinner offering very little resistance so far.

DJOKOVIC 4-2 SINNER
Sinner needs a big game - and gets one.
A well-executed 1-2 punch off the backhand is followed by a maiden ace of the match.
Djokovic can’t really get to grips on the return on this occasion and then shows he is human after all, with a jump backhand that sizzles way long.
17.36
DJOKOVIC 4-1 SINNER
This is ominous.
Djokovic slaps down Ace No.5 and barely breaks sweat as he consolidates with a game to 15.
