Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares claimed doubles glory at the Aegon Championships at Queen’s as they limbered up for their assault on Wimbledon.
The Brit and his Brazilian partner had to finish their semi-final against Marin Cilic and Marcin Matkowski after the former had just lost to Feliciano Lopez in the singles’ final, making light work of that match, before dispatching Eduard Roger-Vasselin and Julien Benneteau in the final straight after, 6-2 6-3.
Murray becomes the first British doubles winner at Queen's since Jeremy Bates in 1990.
The Scot and his partner, Soares, won the Australian Open and the US Open last season. Murray also reached the final of Wimbledon with John Peers in 2015.
Asked about his brother Andy's shock early loss in the singles, Jamie said: "That was unfortunate for the tournament that Andy didn't play so well.
"He's won it five times though but it's nice that I could win it one year."
