Ancic on course

Mario Ancic is looking to finish his Wimbledon preparations on Saturday by defending the title he won last year in the Netherlands. In his way stands Jan Hernych, playing in his first ATP final just before his 27th birthday.
However, the omens do not look good for the Czech.
Currently ranked 128th in the world, Hernych has played his Croat opponent on three previous occasions.
Most recently, the pair met in the semi-finals here, last year, and at Queen's Club the week before that, with Ancic comfortably winning both matches 6-4 6-4. In fact, in their three meetings to date, the Davis Cup winner is yet to drop a set, or even come close to doing so.
Realistically, it will take an upset of huge proportions for the Czech player to take Ancic's title away, especially as his form has improved with every match this week. The French Open quarter-finalist looked mighty impressive in Friday's straight sets victory over Marcos Baghdatis.
