John McEnroe showed age has not dulled his fiery temper as he partnered Jonas Bjorkman to the semi-finals of the San Jose Open doubles on Friday.
The pair beat Tripp Phillips and Ashley Fisher 6-1 7-5.
"You can still dream at 47," said McEnroe, who last played an ATP tour event in 1994.
After cruising to take the first set, McEnroe lost his cool in the second, pointing and yelling at umpire Norm Chryst after he ruled a Bjorkman volley was out.
"That was a brutal call," said McEnroe. "The whole thing could have just turned. It was inside the line."
McEnroe also showcased his trademark precision in front of a crowd of 6912, deftly placing shots just beyond his opponents. "It's great to see his quality out there," said Bjorkman.
"That's why he won 77 titles."
