GAME, SET AND MATCH! - DJOKOVIC 6-2 6-2 BERDYCH - Djokovic makes it three wins out of three to top Group A with an all too easy demolition of Berdych. The Serb makes it 30 indoor matches unbeaten and will meet Nishikori in the semi finals of this event. The Serb also guarantees he will end the season as world number one. Not a bad hour of work for Nole who serves out the contest to love with the minimum of fuss.
-
DJOKOVIC 6-2 5-2 BERDYCH - Two French pastries have been avoided as Berdych navigates past the 'bagel' and now the 'breadstick' with a hold to 15. The Czech shrugs off a scorching backhand winner from Nole to clinch the game with a clever lob off the Serb's overcooked drop shot.
-
DJOKOVIC 6-2 5-1 BERDYCH - A wonderful, deep return from Berdych puts Djoker on the backfoot but the Serb hits back with the next four points, sealing the game with an ace down the middle T. It's all about how respectable Berdych can make this now. The match was gone a long time ago for the Czech.
-
DJOKOVIC 6-2 4-1 BERDYCH - The Birdman will at least take this beyond an hour after fighting back from 30-40 down to finally shake off Djokovic and avoid the bagel.
-
DJOKOVIC 6-2 4-0 BERDYCH - Djokovic is just two games away from sealing the end of season world number one spot. The Serb lures the error out of his opponent with a punishing rally before flashing down an ace. It's a simple hold to 15 and this match is nearing another early finish.

BREAK! - DJOKOVIC 6-2 3-0 BERDYCH - A wild Berdych forehand lands way wide of the tramlines and offers up two more break points. It's followed by an equally bad backhand to seals the double break for the Serb and leave the Birdman staring down the barrel. It can all be summed by the opening point of the game, that must've had Berdych considering packing up his racket and marching off court. A solidly constructed point from the Czech had Djoker on the run but the Serb produced a stunning two-handed backhand winner on the slide to bring the crowd to its feet. Simply magnificent.
-
DJOKOVIC 6-2 2-0 BERDYCH - When the passing shots haven't paid immediate dividends Djokovic has moved into the net and shown some lovely touches on the volley. It helps him to a routine hold to 15 and consolidates that early break.

BREAK! - DJOKOVIC 6-2 1-0 BERDYCH - What looks like being a very solid service game evolves into a disaster for Berdych as Djokovic fights back from 40-0 down to force deuce. The Serb pulls off a sensational defensive return and then correctly challenges a serve called in to go on and claim the break when Berdych fires wide. If the Czech wasn't already mentally broken, he will be after that collapse.

SET! - DJOKOVIC 6-2 BERDYCH - A 31-minute masterclass brings the opening set to a close. Forehand and backhand Djoker winners are followed by long attempts from Berdych to ensure the world number one of passage to the last four, regardless of whether the Birdman launches an unlikely fightback from here.
-
DJOKOVIC 5-2 BERDYCH - The Birdman gives the scoreboard a less embarrassing look as he finds some big serves to edge out the Djoker to 30. The world number one will now serve for the set. The gap in class is quite remarkable, particularly as Djokovic hasn't quite got out of second gear.
-
DJOKOVIC 5-1 BERDYCH - A glimmer of hope at 15-30 is quickly extinguished by a trio of lethal first serves that Berdych can't make much of. This first set is all over bar the shouting. It's ruthlessly efficient from a man who is beginning to play his way into the debate over tennis' greatest ever.
-
DJOKOVIC 4-1 BERDYCH - The Birdman is off the mark! A ridiculous crosscourt winner initially leaves him fearing the worst but he levels at 30-30 with a bullet of an overhead and a fizzing ace. A big second serve edges him ahead and he finally gets on the board when Djokovic nets a forehand on the stretch.
-
DJOKOVIC 4-0 BERDYCH - A sublime drop shot and some more wizardry at the net leave Berdych perplexed and looking very downbeat as Djokovic holds to 15. The gulf in quality between the current top two and the rest is mind boggling!

BREAK! - DJOKOVIC 3-0 BERDYCH - It's been a week of incredibly one-sided affairs and this looks like following suit. Berdych grabs the first point but is soon looking towards his coaching team in dismay as Djokovic takes the next three on the spin. The Serb shows he's human with a simple error but claims the double break when the Birdman powers a crosscourt forehand just wide of the line.
-
DJOKOVIC 2-0 BERDYCH - Encouraging cheers from the crowd as Djokovic fires long to give Berdych his first point at 30-15. The Serb follows it up with a double fault but responds by rattling an ace down the middle T. A lengthy rally concludes the game with Berdych passing an attempt down the line into the net. Break consolidated for the Serb.

BREAK! - DJOKOVIC 1-0 BERDYCH - The Serb roars out of the traps with a break to love, pouncing upon Berdych's weakened second serve to completely destroy his opponent. That's an ominous sign for the Czech.

Djokovic has won this title three times (2008, 2012, 2013) and is currently looking for his third in a row. Berdych is competing in the event for the fifth straight year but has never gone to the final. A victory today would confirm Nole as the season-ending world number one.

PERMUTATIONS: Djokovic is red-hot favourite to take top spot and set up a semi-final clash with Kei Nishikori. It's still possible for all four competitors in this pool to progress, although Novak would have to take a surprise drubbing to miss out. Berdych must win to have any chance. Whoever snares second place will face an on-fire Roger Federer who blew away Andy Murray for the loss of just one game last night.

To put Berdych's task into context, Djokovic has not lost on an indoor court since Paris 2012. If he wins today he will be an impressive 30-matches unbeaten on the surface.
