Hello and welcome to LIVE game-by-game coverage of the last match in Group Stan Smith at this year's ATP World Tour finals. World number one Novak Djokovic faces Tomas Berdych knowing he will qualify for the semi finals if he wins just one set here tonight. The Birdman has a dreadful head-to-head record against the Serbian and would usually take any kind of victory - but he needs to sink Novak in straight sets if he is to join Roger Federer in the last four.

GAME, SET AND MATCH! - DJOKOVIC 6-3 7-5 BERDYCH. Tomas has nothing to lose and goes for a couple of winners, but he is off target. Nole drops the first point on serve but then sees it out to 15 to notch up his 80th win of the season and wrap up a straight sets triumph despite not playing at his best. Djokovic will now turn his full attention to Saturday's semi final with old rival, Rafael Nadal.

BREAK! - DJOKOVIC 6-3 6-5 BERDYCH. Victory is now on Nole's horizon. A brilliant crosscourt backhand return does damage to Berdych's confidence and the Czech double faults to concede triple break point. A lucky nudge off the net pulls one back for Birdman but he can't save himself as he can only block another rasping return long of Djokovic's baseline. The reigning champion will now serve for the match. It's almost as if he planned it that way, conserving energy until he could pick the perfect moment to strike!

DJOKOVIC 6-3 5-5 BERDYCH. Solid serving from Novak see him rampage into a 40-0 lead. A poor forehand into the net blots his copybook but he makes amends with a blockbuster off the same side to level it up at 5-5.

DJOKOVIC 6-3 4-5 BERDYCH. It's a brilliant service game from Tomas. A love hold with a flurry of aces to boot. The pressure is now on an out-of-sorts Nole to hold and stay in the second set.

DJOKOVIC 6-3 4-4 BERDYCH. Tomas has had some chances tonight. At 15-15 he fizzes just wide down the line before an unfortunate net cord plays into Djokovic's hands to give the Serb some breathing space. A thunderous drive volley concludes the game to 15 for Nole and we are all square at the business end of the set.

DJOKOVIC 6-3 3-4 BERDYCH. The Birdman keeps his nose/beak in front after some scintillating returning from Djoker threatened a comeback from 40-0. A timely big first serve puts the game to bed as Tomas at least guarantees himself a respectable scoreline from here. It's not always been the case against Nole in the past.

DJOKOVIC 6-3 3-3 BERDYCH. More sloppy play from the world number one. He lets his level drop at 30-0 and is taken to deuce after a defensive slice slid wide. A better rearguard action keeps him in a point that wins him the game, forcing the Czech to play a strange drop shot that loops into the right-hand alley he is facing.

DJOKOVIC 6-3 2-3 BERDYCH. Three in a row for Tomas he starts to get his teeth into this one. He's enjoying the support of the crowd and now has a lead to try and develop after taking a simple service game to 15.

BREAK! - DJOKOVIC 6-3 2-2 BERDYCH. Novak clearly isn't firing on all cylinders and it proves costly! The Serb lets a 30-15 lead slip and faces break point when Tomas unleashes a splendid return winner. The Czech follows it up with a stunning forehand pass to deservedly level it up. Nole is not exerting himself too much, but he needs to be careful as he doesn't want this to turn into a match Berdych begins to savour.

DJOKOVIC 6-3 2-1 BERDYCH. A sixth ace follows some clever misdirection on a backhand winner as Tomas gets on the board with a solid hold to 15.

DJOKOVIC 6-3 2-0 BERDYCH. Novak has moved up a gear. He wants to get the slippers on early tonight! Brilliant net play, a pinpoint forehand pass and a shot long of the baseline from Berdych see the reigning champion consolidate to 15.

BREAK! - DJOKOVIC 6-3 1-0 BERDYCH. This could be over pretty quickly from here. Errors off the backhand and forehand immediately set the alarm bells ringing for Birdman as Nole snares triple break point. A couple of big first serves sees the Czech save two, but the world number one secures the break when his opponent double faults.

SET! - DJOKOVIC 6-3 BERDYCH. Novak books his place in the semi finals as he sees out the set he needed with a hold to 30. Tomas cannot qualify for the last four and is now playing for pride. Nole will face Rafael Nadal in a mouthwatering clash on Saturday.

BREAK! - DJOKOVIC 5-3 BERDYCH. It's heartbreaking stuff for Berdych as he fights off two break points but succumbs to the third. It could have been so different too. At 30-15 Birdman blitzes a crosscourt forehand beyond Djoker that is called out. The Czech has a look but opts not to challenge. It was in fact, in and instead of 40-15 he allows the Serbinator back in. From there it gets twitchy and Nole does what he always does so well, but striking at the business end of a set. He will now serve for the opener.

DJOKOVIC 4-3 BERDYCH. Tomas takes advantage of some poor play by Djokovic to force deuce from 40-15 down. The Czech is trying to get into the net when he can and produces a superb angled volley in this game. Ultimately it's in vain though as Novak flashes two big forehands into each corner to hold.
