Hello and welcome to LIVE updates of the round-robin match between Kei Nishikori and Dominic Thiem in Group Lleyton Hewitt.

GAME, SET AND MATCH! - THIEM 6-1 6-4 NISHIKORI. Thiem does indeed stay calm and focused to serve out a straight sets victory to love in one hour and 24 minutes. He's still alive in the tournament but needs a major favour from Kevin Anderson when he meets Federer tonight. If the Swiss Maestro wins a set, he'll join the South African in the semis. If Anderson shocks FedEx in two, Thiem will progress.

THIEM 6-1 5-4 NISHIKORI. Kei poses the serve-out question with a comfortable enough hold to 30 despite seeing his unforced error count move beyond 40.

Over to Thiem now. Can he keep his nerve to pick up his maiden win here or are is there more to tell in this story?

THIEM 6-1 5-3 NISHIKORI. Thiem unloads a crosscourt forehand winner and looks in complete control at 30-0. He then produces a lovely forehand lob that is called out. He doesn't challenge but it was in. Nishikori takes the gift and presses the Austrian to deuce. However, Thiem does just enough against his out of sorts opponent to consolidate and move within a game of victory.

BREAK! - THIEM 6-1 4-3 NISHIKORI. That's brilliant from Thiem. He takes advantage of all of Nishikori's woes with a brutal backhand that's just too hot to handle after he had applied the pressure from deuce. Kei did have game point but choked once more with his fifth double fault of the match.

THIEM 6-1 3-3 NISHIKORI. The Dominator looked rather irritated by his lack of ruthlessness in that last game, but he puts it to one side to keep Kei at arm's length and ease level once more.

THIEM 6-1 2-3 NISHIKORI. It's another topsy-turvy game as Kei digs deep to turn a 0-30 deficit into a 40-30 lead. However, Thiem's backhand again does plenty of damage and the Austrian earns himself a big chance for the break. He looks in control in a face off at the net, but somehow loses out and Kei continues to outsmart him at the net to sneak a plucky hold.

THIEM 6-1 2-2 NISHIKORI. Thiem doing just enough but he's far from his spellbinding best either. Nishikori dominates at 40-30 down but gets unlucky as a crosscourt drive clips the net and bounces out.

THIEM 6-1 1-2 NISHIKORI. The Japanese is forced to contend a lively first point, but once he prevails he walks away with a much-needed routine hold to love.

The fact Thiem has won more than a couple of games means Kevin Anderson is guaranteed a spot in the last four, regardless of how he gets on against Federer later.

THIEM 6-1 1-1 NISHIKORI. Thiem gets himself on the board, biting back from 15-30 courtesy of some smart tennis and more unforced errors from his opponent.

THIEM 6-1 0-1 NISHIKORI. That's more like it! Nishikori comes out battling and seals an impressive hold to 15 with an acrobatic backhand overhead.

SET! - THIEM 6-1 NISHIKORI. The Dominator hits back from 15-30 to serve out the opener on his second set point. Nishikori was all over the place with a massive 24 unforced errors leaking off his racket in that set. As a result he hurls it to the floor and gives it the treatment. Can he channel the anger in the right way or is his confidence completely shattered?

BREAK! - THIEM 5-1 NISHIKORI. It's a similar story for Kei. Indeed, it's not so special K as he struggles to find a first serve and offers up five break points with an array of unforced errors. Thiem gets the double break, but it's not down to anything he does as the Japanese gifts it to him with another double fault.

THIEM 4-1 NISHIKORI. A rollercoaster of a game eventually goes the way of Thiem with the Austrian saving no fewer than four break points to maintain his advantage. Nishikori will be hugely frustrated after constructing some excellent points to apply sustained pressure without reward.
