So Murray and Soares, who only teamed up at the beginning of the year, are through to their third final in three tournaments, while Murray is through to his third consecutive Grand Slam final.

Murray/Soares 6-3 6-1 Mannarino/Pouille. Game, set and match. A quick and loud call from Murray ends with a smash winner from the Brit to open the game before Mannarino gets distracted by the Brit's move across the net and dumps his forehand in it. 0-30 quickly becomes three match points after another forehand winner from Murray. Mannarino saves the first with a cross court forehand winner but they can do nothing about the second as Soares nets a forehand.
Murray/Soares 6-3 5-1 Mannarino/Pouille. Soares intercepts a high forehand volley in the centre of the court to get himself and Murray out of a potential spot of bother at 0-30 before a netted forehand from the French duo to allow the seventh seeds to level at 30-all. Murray goes on to secure the hold with an ace down the centre of the court, unsuccessfully challenged by Mannarino, who will now have to serve to keep this match alive.

Murray/Soares 6-3 4-1 Mannarino/Pouille. Break. Fantastic instinctive play from Soares is followed up by a forehand winner from Murray before the seventh seeds are handed a point for the double break after a double fault from Pouille. And that one point is all it takes as Murray's cross court forehand return is tricky enough to draw the forehand into the net from Pouille. Murray and Soares lead now by a set and a double break and have one foot in their third final from three since teaming up at the beginning of the year.
Murray/Soares 6-3 3-1 Mannarino/Pouille. Soares somehow manages to crouch down low and deflect a forehand back over the net from above his head. He does just enough with the ball and Murray goes on to hold without trouble.

Murray/Soares 6-3 2-1 Mannarino/Pouille. Testing times for Mannarino and Pouille as the latter blocks Mannarino's view and causes the forehand drive volley error from the latter to allow Murray and Soares to level up at deuce. But a Murray error hands the French duo a game point, which Pouille makes good on with a forehand volley winner.
Murray/Soares 6-3 2-0 Mannarino/Pouille. Super pick-up from Murray as he races in behind his first serve. His forehand just over the net makes things difficult enough for Pouille, who can only send his backhand volley wide across court. Murray and Soares have the hold that cements their early break in this second set.

Murray/Soares 6-3 1-0 Mannarino/Pouille. Break. Soares lunges out to his forehand side and flicks a inside-out return of serve across court for a winner to bring up two early set points for the seventh seeds. The French duo save the first but another cracking return draws the error and Murray and Soares have the break in the opening game of this second set.

Murray/Soares 6-3 Mannarino/Pouille. Set. Quick as a flash, Soares helps him out to two set points. The Brazilian only needs the one, however, thumping an ace down the centre of the court to wrap up the opening set with just 32 minutes on the clock.
Murray/Soares 5-3 Mannarino/Pouille. Mannarino races through a love service hold to ask the question of Murray and Soares. The Brazilian will serve for the opening set.
Murray/Soares 5-2 Mannarino/Pouille. An ace from Murray, the seventh seeds' third ace of the match, seals the hold that consolidates their break and the Murray/Soares duo are potentially just one game away from the first set. Mannarino and Pouille, more specifically Mannarino, will have to serve to keep this first set alive after the change of ends.

Murray/Soares 4-2 Mannarino/Pouille. Break. Good instincts from Soares on the backhand volley which does just enough to beat Mannarino for pace. It brings up three break points for the seventh seeded duo. But only one is needed as Murray dinks down a shoulder-height backhand volley just over the net to secure the break.
Murray/Soares 3-2 Mannarino/Pouille. Murray and Soares find themselves staring at the wrong end of two break points when the Brit sends his forehand response to Mannarino's cross court forehand well wide across court. Soares saves the first with a great first serve, swinging away from Pouille and a cracking low backhand volley from the Brazilian is enough to save the second as the ball just swings away from Pouille and leaves the interception too much for the Frenchman. In the end Murray and Soares do enough to secure the hold, Murray smashing down the winner, but that was a tough hold for the seventh seeds.
Murray/Soares 2-2 Mannarino/Pouille. Soares is slightly late with his move forward but there is nothing he could have done about Mannarino's cheeky cross court forehand winner on the acute angle. Murray and Soares look poised to cause some damage at 15-30 but the French duo bounce back and Pouille secures the hold for his partner with a smash winner down at the feet of Murray.
Murray/Soares 2-1 Mannarino/Pouille. Murray and Soares find themselves both stranded in the very middle of the court. Lucky for them, however, that Poulle can't find any width with his forehand and Murray is able to cut off the ball and flick it away emphatically for a forehand volley winner.
Murray/Soares 1-1 Mannarino/Pouille. Mannarino and Pouille cut through an opening hold with Mannarino thumping down a cross court smash on his way to helping his partner to sealing the game.
Murray/Soares 1-0 Mannarino/Pouille. Solid start from Murray and Soares. They look to be cruising to a love service hold to open their account only for a couple of errors to allow Mannarino and Pouille to peg them back to 40-30. But some instinctive volleying from Murray followed by a forehand volley winner through the middle of the court and Murray and Soares have their opening hold.

The delayed warm-up just about over and done with and it will be Murray and Soares to get the clash underway by serving first. More specifically, Soares will serve first...
