MURRAY 4-6 7-6(2) 6-1 7-6(2) - GAME, SET & MATCH - A first match point goes to begging for Murray when he sends a forehand return into the net but the Scot reaches his second successive Australian Open final at the second attempt with a great forehand half volley winner after pushing Ferrer wide and out of position with a drop shot

MURRAY 4-6 7-6(2) 6-1 6-6(5-1) - TIE-BREAK - A shocking call on a Ferrer cross court forehand, that was clearly in, leaves the Spaniard justifiably furious as they have to replay the point. And even more detrimental to the Spaniard's mood is a Murray forehand winner that seals the replayed point. Murray finds a 209kph ace out wide to take a 5-1 lead at the change of ends
-
MURRAY 4-6 7-6(2) 6-1 6-6 - Murray looks to be cruising to a love service hold before a double fault and a backhand just wide down the line let Ferrer back into the game. But the Spaniard hits an off-forehand into the net as Murray holds to force a second tie-break
-
MURRAY 4-6 7-6(2) 6-1 5-6 - Murray tracks back to pick up a lob and flicks a badminton-like backhand down the line to win the point (Ferrer can only hit into the net) as he makes his move and levels at deuce. But Ferrer digs deep once again and goes on to hold with a series of solid ground-strokes that eventually draws the error from Murray. The Scot will have to serve to stay in this fourth set for a second time
-
MURRAY 4-6 7-6(2) 6-1 5-5 - Ferrer just narrowly misses a backhand that he pushes long after down the line after racing up to the drop shot and Murray goes on to hold and keep this set alive with a super first serve out wide followed by a high forehand volley winner
-
MURRAY 4-6 7-6(2) 6-1 4-5 - Ferrer somehow gets a very low backhand volley not only up and over the net but also away across court for a winner before he goes on to hold with an emphatic forehand smash down into the open court after pushing Murray wide and out of position. And the Scot will have to serve to stay in the fourth set after the change of ends
-
MURRAY 4-6 7-6(2) 6-1 4-4 Murray flashes a forehand across court that Ferrer can only return into the net and the Scot goes on to hold just one point later to level up once again at this crucial point in this fourth set
-
MURRAY 4-6 7-6(2) 6-1 3-4 - Murray dumps a very, very easy shoulder-height forehand volley into the net despite only being a foot away. That was actually harder to miss than to make and Ferrer goes on to hold with a cross court forehand that draws the cross court forehand error from Murray. The Spaniard is still dangerous here and he is clearly rejuvinated
-
MURRAY 4-6 7-6(2) 6-1 3-3 - A great first serve down the centre of the court, which Ferrer can only return into the net, helps Murray earn himself two game points. The Spaniard denies him one with a cross court forehand winner although Murray does hold on the second attempt with a fantastic forehand winner straight down the line
-
MURRAY 4-6 7-6(2) 6-1 2-3 - Murray slaps consecutive forehands long to let Ferrer off the hook from 15-30 down and Ferrer takes full advantage as he goes on to hold with a cross court forehand that Murray can only hit into the top of the net across court

MURRAY 4-6 7-6(2) 6-1 2-2 - BREAK - Murray jars his back a little after a small slip at the net and it clearly plays on his mind a little for the next few points as he slaps down a double fault and a backhand long down the line to hand Ferrer three break back points. And the Spaniard does get the break back at the first attempt when Murray hits into the net off the forehand wing
-
MURRAY 4-6 7-6(2) 6-1 2-1 - Ferrer saves another break point with a much better forehand that draws the error from Murray before going on to hold with a cross court forehand winner after a lengthy rally. The Spaniard is still just about clinging on to this match
-
MURRAY 4-6 7-6(2) 6-1 2-0 - A much better drop shot from Murray on the angle that Ferrer can only return wide across court helps the Scot on his way to a comfortable hold to 15 and that consolidates his early break in this set

MURRAY 4-6 7-6(2) 6-1 1-0 - BREAK - Murray is definately in control now as he breaks for the opening game of the fourth set, the Spaniard not helping things with two unforced errors before Murray wrapped things up with a winner

MURRAY 4-6 7-6(2) 6-1 - SET - Finally Murray does wrap up the set, sending Ferrer sprinting off to his forehand side and drawing the forehand down the line error. The Scot now has a two sets to one lead and it looks to be a long way back for the tired Spaniard
-
MURRAY 4-6 7-6(2) 5-1 Ad-40 - The Spaniard sends a forehand long of the baseline to squander it before pushing Murray wide and forcing a cross corut error to earn himself a fourth chance. But again it goes begging, Murray this time saving it with a cracking first serve. Another backhand passing shot earns him a fifth chance, which he wastes with a low backhand sliced into the net, before Murray earns himself a set point with a solid first serve that Ferrer returns into the net
-
MURRAY 4-6 7-6(2) 5-1 40-Ad - Murray sends a backhand long to squander a first set point and let Ferrer level up at deuce and a low backhand into the net from the Scot hands Ferrer a break back point. Murray saves it with a forehand down the line before sending a forehand volley wide into the tramlines to gift Ferrer a second chance. But the Scot saves this as well as he ghosts into the net and finds a backhand stop volley winner. A backhand passing shot winner earns Ferrer a third chance

MURRAY 4-6 7-6(2) 5-1 - BREAK - Murray marginally misses a cross court forehand to let Ferrer off the hook from 30-30 although a forehand passing shot just long from the Spaniard followed by a backhand approach shot into the net hand Murray a point for the double break. And a perfect forehand top-spin lob from Murray, that Ferrer can get nowhere near, wraps up the break that leaves the Scot serving for this third set
-
MURRAY 4-6 7-6(2) 4-1 - Very solid serving from Muray as he holds to 15 with a 163kph first serve that an increasingly exhausted-looking Ferrer cannot return in court. That hold consolidates the break for Murray and leaves him potentially just two games away from taking the lead in this clash for the first time
