GAME - MURRAY 6-1 6-1 1-2 SOEDA: Murray dumps a routine return into the net after dilligently working up to break point. But no worry, after Soeda mopped up his third game of the match, the Scot found amusement in his loud and fanatic cheering squad.

GAME - MURRAY 6-1 6-1 0-1 SOEDA: A rare game for Soeda as the Japanese journeyman strings together a few forehands and briefly gains the upper hand.
SET - MURRAY 6-1 6-1 SOEDA: Murray takes the first two sets in under an hour, with one single game lost in the previous two. 17 winners and 5 unforced errors - a faultless display.

GAME - MURRAY 6-1 3-0 SOEDA: The winners just keep on coming, and it's another painfully easy hold.
BREAK - MURRAY 6-1 2-0 SOEDA: The winners continue to flow for Murray just as fluently as Soeda's errors. A peach of a backhand down the line and a forehand winner sandwiched between Soeda's misfirings offer up another break for the Scot.
GAME - MURRAY 6-1 1-0 SOEDA: Murray opens his account in set two with another easy hold. More solid serving, more errors from Soeda - more of the same.
SET - MURRAY 6-1 SOEDA: You know Andy Murray is in a good mood when he unleashes on his backhand down-the-line; thrice in the final game he crushed his backhand straight down-the-line. A double fault from Soeda set point then promptly seals up the set.
GAME - MURRAY 5-1 SOEDA: A couple of great points as Murray looks too keep his backhand slice short and goad Soeda into errors. After the first lengthy rally, Soeda comes up with a brilliant backhand straight down the line. The second time they sink into a similar stalemate, however, Murray unleashes on a brilliant inside-out forehand. Another comfortable hold and Murray extends his lead.
BREAK - MURRAY 4-1 SOEDA: Another return game, another break. A good backhand return and some great depth is all Murray needs to capture the double break. Soeda is leaking too many errors and making like much easier for the fourth seed, who undoubtedly won't be complaining.
