GAME, SET AND MATCH - FEDERER 6-3 7-5 6-4 TSONGA - Tsonga goes just long with a forehand to help Federer on his way to three match points. Incredibly the sixth seed slaps down his first double fault of the match to squander the first. But he does wrap things up at the second with a trip into the net and a forehand volley winner across court.
-
FEDERER 6-3 7-5 5-4 TSONGA -Tsonga seals a lov service game when he pushes Tsonga out wide on the forehand wing and draws the forehand error from Federer. But the seth seed will serve for the match after the change of ends.
-
FEDERER 6-3 7-5 5-3 TSONGA - The first mis-hit foehand we have seen pretty much all evening is as a direct result of Tsonga playing up on the baseline that bit more and applying the pressure. And the Frenchman brings up a break back point just a couple of points later - his first break point of the match - with a forehand passing shot winner. But Federer saves it before going on to hold with an ace. Tsonga will have to serve to stay in the match.
-
FEDERER 6-3 7-5 4-3 TSONGA - Tsonga is furious with himself when he puts a passing shot right back at Federer and he belts a ball up into the crowd in frustration. He gets a code violation warning for it but it seems to have fired him up as he storms back from triple break down and holds with a booming forehand winner. The Frenchman sprints back to his chair and throws his racquet down in adrenalin. He is pumped!
-
FEDERER 6-3 7-5 4-2 TSONGA - Federer has dropped just 10 points behind his serve this entire match. Sensatinal serving from the sixth seed as he again holds to deuce to keep all the pressure on Tsonga.
-
FEDERER 6-3 7-5 3-2 TSONGA - Oh hello! Tsonga has rediscovered his serve again! The Frenchman posts a blink-and-you'll-miss-it service game of his own, to love, to get his side of the scoreboard ticking over once more.
-
FEDERER 6-3 7-5 3-1 TSONGA - Federer races through another service hold for the loss of just the one point, opening with an ace and closing it up with another trip into the net where Tsonga fails to land his passing shot attempt.

BREAK - FEDERER 6-3 7-5 2-1 TSONGA - Federer opens the game with a smash before doing more than enough to befuddle Tsonga and draw three staight errors from the Frenchman. It brings up two break points but only one is needed by the sixth seed when Tsonga comes into the net only to dump his backhand volley into the net
-
FEDERER 6-3 7-5 1-1 TSONGA - Another incredibly comfortablle service hold for Federer as he also drops just the one point with another few trips into the net to keep Tsonga guessing about exactly where the ball is going.
-
FEDERER 6-3 7-5 0-1 TSONGA - A nice comfortable service game for Tsonga to open the third set. The Frenchman drops just one point in the process of that game, a good confidence building game to open the third set.

BREAK - FEDERER 6-3 6-5 TSONGA - Federer's backhand catches the top of the tape and just crawls over the net for the perfect drop shot. Fed apologise but it brings up set point. Federer grabs it with both hands when Tsonga nets a forehand down the line and Fed will serve for the second set after the change of ends.
-
FEDERER 6-3 5-5 TSONGA - As if it was ever in doubt, Federer hold with another very comfortable service game to level up again. Tonga will need to start again as he looks to level this match
-
FEDERER 6-3 4-5 TSONGA - An outstanding cross court forehand return is moving away from Tsonga with every step he takes towards it and it leaves the Frenchman just shaking his head. But he holds without the loss of further points and Federer will have to serve to stay in this set after the chamge of ends.
-
FEDERER 6-3 4-4 TSONGA - Federer takes a long look at a backhand return down the line that Tsonga lands right on the outside of the line. But he decides to let it go unchallenged as he's already leading 40-love and quickly wraps up the hold of serve.
-
FEDERER 6-3 3-4 TSONGA - Tsonga gets a little lucky when Federer's inside out forehand catches the top of the tape and sits up nice and high, allowing Tsonga ample time to get up and fire away the forehand winner at 30-all. From there the Frenchman holds and were there just a few signs in that game of some fatigure from Federer? A couple of mis-hits.

FEDERER 6-3 3-3 TSONGA - A little flick of the wrist from Federer after some incredible defence and the ball rattles down the line for a backhand winner. From there a couple of inside out forehands across court and a forehand volley winner and its another love service hold for Federer in less than a minute.
-
FEDERER 6-3 2-3 TSONGA - Tsonga's head drops a little after another masterclass point from Federer, the sixth seed drawing Tsonga up to the net before delaying his forehand passing shot until the Frenchman had made his move and them putting the ball down the line for a winner. But Tsonga does well to steady the ship with a couple of aces and go on to hold.
