BREAK - NADAL 0-2 DIMITROV - Nadal starts with a double fault before Dimitrov sneaks out to a 0-30 lead with a most impressive forehand winner down the line. Nadal levels up with a cross court forehand winner and a body serve that Dimitrov nets. But a remarkable pick-up from the Bulgarian for the passing shot winner and it's an early break point to the youngster. Nadal mis-hits his forehand, pulling it wide down the line and Dimitrov has the break

NADAL 0-1 DIMITROV - An ace, a forehand winner and a service winner bring Dimitrov three very quick game points. Nadal pegs one point back with a blistering forehand return winner down the line but a second ace from the Bulgarian secures a very confident opening service hold.

The players are just about ready to go now and it will be Dimitrov to kick things off by serving first, Nadal winning the spin of the coin and electing to receive.

WEATHER - The temperature in Melbourne is pretty perfect right now, hovering around the 21 degree mark. There's not a cloud in the sky and barely any breeze. In other words, perfect tennis conditions.

STATS - These two have met each other on three previous ocassions with Nadal winning all three of them. But Dimitrov has taken a set off Nadal in each of those meetings. That said, they have never met in a Grand Slam before, and especially not a Grand Slam quarter-final as this is. A first Grand Slam quarter-final for Dimitrov.
