Federer 7-6(4) 6-2 6-4 Berdych. Game, set and match. Boom. Federer quickly earns himself three match points. Berdych saves the first with a blistering cross court forehand winner, slapped away dismissively almost. But there is absolutely nothing Berdych can do about the second as Federer easily gets up to a defensive lob from the Czech and fires a smash winner down the line.

Federer 7-6(4) 6-2 5-4 Berdych. Break. There's a massive scream of "come on" from Federer as he rattles a single-handed backhand winner down the line to bring up game point after another very competitive game. And that's all it takes for the world number three to seal the lead, Berdych failing to find the court with a forehand. Federer will serve for the match after the change of ends.
Federer 7-6(4) 6-2 4-4 Berdych. Another tough service game apiece but first Berdych and then Federer come through to keep things ticking over on serve as this third set reaches crunch poin.
Federer 7-6(4) 6-2 3-3 Berdych. Federer nets a low, casual forehand volley to hand Berdych a sniff at the break once more. That quickly becomes two more break points when Berdych slaps an aggressive forehand return of serve winner across court. Back-to-back service winners from Federer see him level up at deuce and the world number three goes on to hold by threading a backhand passing shot winner across court and into the tiniest of open spaces.

The winner of this match will face the winner of today's second quarter-final between Kei Nishikori and Novak Djokovic, which begins at 8am UK time.
Federer 7-6(4) 6-2 2-3 Berdych. Fantastic reactions from Federer as he sneaks ahead against the Berdych serve with a backhand volley winner off the body after a great pick-up from the sixth seed. Berdych levels at 30-all with a better first serve that Federer can only return into the top of the net before earning himself a game point with a forehand winner down the line, called out but over-ruled by umpire Carlos Bernardes. A double fault squanders Berdych's first chance to seal the game but he does hold at the second attempt when Federer fails to find the court with backhand.
Federer 7-6(4) 6-2 2-2 Berdych. Federer gets things fully back on track by racing through a love service game to seal a complete change in momentum again. Berdych might not have another chance to get something out of this match.

Federer 7-6(4) 6-2 1-2 Berdych. Break. After all that hard work to get ahead, Berdych hands Federer the immediate break back, slapping down a double fault to concede his serve.

Federer 7-6(4) 6-2 0-2 Berdych. Break. Federer goes just wide across court with a forehand to gift Berdych a break point almost from nowhere. Federer snuffs it out quickly before handing Berdych another chance when his off-balance inside out backhand goes wide across court. And this time Berdych does get the break, catching the very back of the baseline with a backhand down the line. A total change in momentum all of a sudden but Berdych has the break early in this third set.
Federer 7-6(4) 6-2 0-1 Berdych. The sixth seed admirably just keeps plugging away and holds for the opening game of this third set, sealing a love service game with an ace and a big serve out wide that Federer can only return long off a sliced backhand return.

Federer 7-6(4) 6-2 Berdych. Set. Federer eases through a service hold to 15 to seal the second set, a big first serve doing the damage and allowing Federer to follow the ball up the court and take the set with an inside out forehand winner across court. Berdych has done very little wrong and yet finds himself two sets to love down in an hour and a half.

Federer 7-6(4) 5-2 Berdych. Break. Federer secure the double break lead to leave himself serving for a two sets to love lead. The world number three patiently moves Berdych around the court before playing an angled, shorter backhand. The Czech sixth seed does get a racquet on the ball but he can do nothing with it and sends the ball back along the ground and into the net to concede the game.
