Couple of shaky first serves, a stark contrast to the majority of the match, from Wawrinka but there are no alarm bells as he serves out and goes into the semi-finals.
A terrific performance from the Swiss who took control after winnng the tie break in the first set.
A civilised handshake between the two given what had gone on in the earlier changeover.
He rightly laps up the acclaim of the crowd.
Next up is the winner of the game between compatriot Roger Federer and Andy Murray's conqueror Mischa Zverev.

Tsonga does what is required of him and Wawrinka will have to serve it out for the match.

Tsonga has break point but Wawrinka battles back and exclaims a roar as he makes it 5-2, he can sense it is close now.

The crowd show their support for Tsonga as he holds to keep the game alive, a break here for the Frenchman and who knows what might happen.

Wawrinka comes to the net and try his cross court forehand to counter a Tsonga drop. Tsonga reads it this time but his volley goes into the net and Wawrinka is now just two away.

Tsonga is fighting back here. A massive forehand winner, clocked at 154 km/h is the highlight of him holding his service game.

Tsonga pushes Wawrinka deep but the Swiss is returning extremely well, with the backhand in particular coming out well. This is really, really tough for Tsonga right now both physically and mentally.

Tsonga is starting to look tired now and Wawrinka looks extremely fired up, he senses blood. He gets a relatively lucky lob effort in but Tsonga smashes into the net.

More missed break opportunities for Tsonga as Wawrinka digs deep and pushes him further and further back. He wins the game with an audacious challenge (can a challenge be audacious? We think so) and keeps the pressure on Tsonga.

And indeed he does break, Tsonga needs a massive rally in the third set now as he is well and truly up against it.

Two incredible returns from Wawrinka, how does he generate that much power? Then again he comes to the net and puts it to 0-40. Tsonga goes into the net and we have another break. They're a bit like London buses.

That's a big blow for Tsonga and he needs to make sure he stays focused here. He has a great chance to break but Wawrinka battles back really well and holds.
