DIMITROV WINS! Dimitrov 7-6, 7-6, 4-6 7-6(7-4) Kyrgios: Dimitrov serves, takes the first point. Kyrgios makes Dimitrov do all the running to go level. Dimitrov skids to stretch to a return to his left, but sends it into the net. Kyrgios is 2-1 up, the game going with service for now. A strong serve from Dimitrov, and a loose return from Kyrgios, sees Kyrgios back behind. A desperate rally from both of them ends when a cross-court shot from Kyrgios beats his opponent. Kyrgios makes the first error of the game as he positions his Dimitrov from right to left, and then hits the net. Dimitrov is 4-3 up, now, and can serve, moving into 6-3. Three match points now, as Kyrgios goes back to serve. 6-4. Kyrgios serves, Kyrgios sends Dimitrov to the back of the court, but he drags a great shot across court, just inside, and he claims victory. A strong, gutsy performance against a difficult opponent, who at times had the momentum with him but just didn't have the shots when it ultimately counted.

A double fault from Dimitrov means Kyrgios has break point. Dimitrov faults again, and now Kyrgios decides to exchange words with the crowd. A thumping rally ensues, and he breaks back. 5-4.

Dimitrov 7-6, 7-6, 4-6, 5-3 Kyrgios: Dimitrov plays a wonderful backhand down the line to take the first point, but Kyrgios responds with the 31st ace of the match. Kyrgios grinds into a 40-30 lead as he pulls Dimitrov across the court to make space. A brief outburst from Kyrgios at the spectator who was coughing in the crowd after his seventh double fault, but the second serves in the next point with a rifled ace. Kyrgios then effs and jeffs in frustration at his racquet scooping the ball out, and his misery is compounded when his first serve is challenged, and ruled out. He moves onto deuce with another wonderful serve, but Dimitrov copes on the next point to move into advantage. Yet more effing from Kyrgios - who still hasn't been warned. And then, drama! Kyrgios waits for a poor lob to land, sizes up a smash to return, he drives it into the net.

Dimitrov 7-6, 7-6, 4-6, 4-3 Kyrgios: Dimitrov takes the first two points of the seventh game, and after a brief rally in the fourth point, he takes an easy game to take the lead once again. His serve is far more dominant than the Australian's - for now.

Kyrgios gets onto the front foot to make it 30-30, but won it only because Dimitrov clipped the net to send the ball out of play. For the next point, the net is Kyrgios's enemy, as his return drops into his side of the court. Dimitrov attacks for the next point, coming to the net, and instead of sending the ball left into space, it's out of play at straight at his opponent. Deuce.
Kyrgios send saves a point, straining to his right, and Dimitrov plays it into the net. The crowd will their man on to break. Dimtirov serves fiercely to move into advantage himself, and squeezes past the advancing Kyrgios to take the game.

Dimitrov 7-6, 7-6, 4-6, 2-1 Kyrgios: These guys are powering through now with some big serves. Kyrgios looks like he will gift another game to his Bulgarian opponent, but he whacks yet another ace to find his way back in.
Dimitrov 7-6, 7-6, 4-6, 1-1 Kyrgios: We are level pegging in the fourth set, DImitrov has upped his game again but these two could well go the distance now. It's pretty obvious from the whoops and hollers in the Rod Laver Arena who the crowd are backing.

Dimitrov 7-6, 7-6, 4-5 Kyrgios: Kyrgios has held and looks dangerous. He's swinging at the ball with real strength and is in a good position to break DImitrov, but he's gone long and Dimitrov hangs on in there. Kyrgios will serve for the set now.
