Game, set and match. Both of these players left it all on court but it's Medvedev who gets the win. A really entertaining match, especially for a first round. He'll play Dominik Koepfer or Pedro Martinez in the next round. These two could play out many entertaining battles over the years to come.

Medvedev is closing in on victory, taking a 4-1 lead in the fourth set. He had to save break point to do so. Both players are covered in sweat and this entertaining battle has clearly taken a toll on both.

This really is a fantastic contest, with both players putting in a great account of themselves. Tiafoe has battled hard aftre going 2-0 down in the third set and is even getting a bit of luck with the net cords for a change!

Medvedev has the break in the third set and he's definitely had the rub of the green. It's a lengthy game on the Tiafoe serve, with Medvedev winning two points from net cords, one from a miscued volley which just landed in and another from a challenge which revealed that his shot had *just* caught the line. Tiafoe can scarcely believe it.

It's one set all! Tiafoe levels it up after rallying brilliantly. His slow start is behind him now and this match is anyone's.

Tiafoe has been slowly but surely getting into this match and now he has his reward, nailing a forehand pass after a poor volley from Medvedev to get the break in the second set.

Medvedev has played one of the most ridiculous points ever to hold for 5-3, with Tiafoe bludgeoning the ball in his direction and the Russian somehow getting enough racquet on it to force it over the net with what must be his fourth volley. He then breaks for a third time to seal the first set.

Out of nowhere, this match has come to life. Tiafoe sends down a fantastic return to cancel out one of the breaks and suddenly it's Medvedev who looks rattled as the American follows it up with a routine hold.

This looked like an attractive match in theory but it's one-way traffic so far, with Medvedev absolutely dominating Tiafoe, who looks out of sorts. The American has not had the rub of the green either so far, and Medvedev dominates from two net cords as he breaks for a second time.

We're right in the heat of a battle here. Tiafoe is pushed all the way on serve first up with Medvedev evenutally making the breakthrough, which he backs up with a fine hold. Quick improvement needed if Tiafoe is to break his four-match losing streak.
