Here we go! It's chapter eight of Rafael Nadal v Nick Kyrgios. There is certainly no love lost between these two and Kyrgios of course has experience of beating the 19-Slam champion at this stage of a major, announcing himself to the world as a teenager against the Spaniard at Wimbledon in 2014.

A good win for Nadal, who by and large served excellently. But Kyrgios will be left to rue his choice of a drop shot in the fourth-set breaker, and his costly double fault in the third-set breaker. Nadal loses a set for the first time in the tournament, and he has a clash against Dominic Thiem to look forward to in the quarter-finals.

NADAL 6-3 3-6 7-6 7-6 KYRGIOS
Nadal wins!
Kyrgios is well in this tiebreaker, but serving at 3-4, he tries the drop shot. He doesn't get enough power on it. A good serve from Nadal brings up two match points and he only needs one.
11:45
NADAL 6-3 3-6 7-6 6-6 KYRGIOS
Nadal plays the service game he was looking for at 5-4. He holds to 15 and we're going to a breaker again.
11:42
NADAL 6-3 3-6 7-6 5-6 KYRGIOS
Just after Kyrgios had done all that work to get back on terms, he gives Nadal a 0-30 head start with two unforced errors. A long ground stroke makes it 15-40 and suddenly Kyrgios has his back to the wall. A big serve saves the first and he brings Rafa to the net well and lands the pass for the second.
Somehow he gets out of the game unscathed and suddenly Nadal is serving to stay in the set, having been serving for the match just minutes ago.
11:34
NADAL 6-3 3-6 7-6 5-5 KYRGIOS
Nadal gets tight! Two unforced errors and a double fault give Kyrgios two break points. He has a golden opportunity with the first but a tame backhand helps Nadal save it. On the second one, he misses his first serve and Kyrgios batters down a forehand that Nadal can only prod wide of the tramlines. Without warning, we're back on terms!
11:28
NADAL 6-3 3-6 7-6 5-4 KYRGIOS
A game that sort of sums up the last set and a half. Kyrgios wins the first two points with aces, but Nadal wins the third and fourth when he gets involved in the rallies.
He grinds out the hold, though, and it's over to Nadal to serve it out.
11:25
NADAL 6-3 3-6 7-6 5-3 KYRGIOS
Nadal is closing in on his win now. Kyrgios is still giving his all but his exertions earlier in the tournament are clearly hampering him.
11:20
NADAL 6-3 3-6 7-6 4-3 KYRGIOS
Kyrgios is still fighting. Nadal is looking to finish this in a hurry, taking Kyrgios to deuce, but the home hope digs himself out of trouble on serve to stay within touching distance. He has only crafted one break point all game, though, and Nadal doesn't look like giving any more away.
11:16
NADAL 6-3 3-6 7-6 4-2 KYRGIOS
Nadal holds to love but Kyrgios will be slightly disappointed not to have pushed him further. He was involved in every rally after being 15-0 down, but two stray forehands help Nadal hold. Kyrgios falls at the end of the game.
11:11
NADAL 6-3 3-6 7-6 3-2 KYRGIOS
Kyrgios needed that - he holds to 15 after losing three straight games. He's still in this contest as long as there's only one break in it but Nadal has been serving brilliantly, it must be said.
11:08
NADAL 6-3 3-6 7-6 3-1 KYRGIOS
Kyrgios is visibly tired now, grunting ever more loudly between each point. Nadal seals a hold to love with a forehand down the line that is nothing short of perfect.
11:04
NADAL 6-3 3-6 7-6 2-1 KYRGIOS
Is that the end of Kyrgios? He plays a horrible service game, with a couple of errors giving Nadal three break points. He only needs one though, with the Aussie sending down a double fault.
11:00
NADAL 6-3 3-6 7-6 1-1 KYRGIOS
Nadal responds in kind. Given the disappointment Kyrgios will have felt at the end of the third set and his long physical battle with Karen Khachanov in the last round, you worry about Kyrgios as the set goes on.
NADAL 6-3 3-6 7-6 0-1 KYRGIOS
Strong hold from Kyrgios, the Australian star thunders down an ace to seal the first game of the fourth set. Kyrgios, of course, went four hours plus in his last match against Karen Khachanov and will have to go to five setS again here against the world number one. So, the swifter the games the better.
10:43
NADAL 6-3 3-6 7-6 KYRGIOS
Kyrgios is playing on the edge now. He falls an early mini-break behind and gets frustrated with himself when he fails to make a pass which would have cancelled it out. He takes it out on his racquet, picking up a warning for good measure. At 5-3, Nadal nets a forehand to give away the advantage.
Just when it looked as though momentum was shifting, Kyrgios double faults to hand Nadal set point, which he loses with a double of fault of his own. A second set point follows though and when Kyrgios nets, Nadal has the third set in the bag.
10:38
NADAL 6-3 3-6 6-6 KYRGIOS
Kyrgios plays a criminal point at 15-15, failing to put away a winner when he was at the net, trying to be too delicate/cocky. An outrageous forehand winner onto the line makes it 30-30. Both players trade unforced errors from then on but Kyrgios gets the hold. Eventually. Into a breaker.
10:30
NADAL 6-3 3-6 6-5 KYRGIOS
Kyrgios is giving it his all in every single point, scampering around the court to try to reach every ball. Nadal has the answers this time, though, and Kyrgios is left to argue with the chair umpire over some suspect line calls.
10:26
NADAL 6-3 3-6 5-5 KYRGIOS
A wide forehand from Kyrgios gives Nadal 15-30 and a sniff of the set, but big serving gets the Australian out of trouble. Again. Just the 18 aces so far today.
10:21
NADAL 6-3 3-6 5-4 KYRGIOS
Kyrgios' turn to put Nadal under pressure. There are two thrilling rallies which Nadal wins to get to 40-15 but a superb return and a long forehand make it deuce. Kyrgios has an incredible opportunity to get to break point but he somehow sends a forehand down the line long. Nadal's defence gets him out of trouble at the tail end of the game.
