Good morning and welcome to Eurosport's LIVE coverage of the Australian Open men's singles third round match between Dominic Thiem and Nick Kyrgios. This is the one we have been waiting for today. Thiem, of course, is a Grand Slam champion having won at the US Open last September. Kyrgios, on the other hand, has the talent to reach those sort of heights, but has never fulfilled that potential. Kyrgios came through arguably the match of the men's singles so far in the second round, saving two match points at 2-1 to beat Ugo Humbert in five sets. Another marathon today?

What a comeback! Thiem was in real trouble at two sets to love down, but the US Open champion found something deep inside to spark a comeback! Kyrgios played some magnificent stuff in the first two sets, but allowed his level to drop and against a player as good as Thiem that proved to be the difference.

Ok, here we go. It's now or never if Kyrgios is going to stay in this match and stay in the Australian Open. Can he make any inroads on the Thiem serve? He's struggled to do in each of the last three sets.

Thiem moves to within just one game of a place in the fourth round with a love hold. Is Kyrgios ready to fight for this? Remember he fought back from two match points to win against Humbert!

There's the all important break in this fifth and deciding set and it goes to Thiem! Fantastic return from the Austrian on break point and he moves to within just two games of the fourth round!

There was a sense just for a moment that Kyrgios was cranking up something at 15-15 after a forehand ripper down the line, but Thiem comfortably holds once again and it's 3-3 in this final set.

Pressure back on Thiem and it's another comfortable hold. The Australian has refocused himself again. Some of the angles he is getting on his groundstrokes is fantastic. Thiem having to do some real running!

Two love holds for Kyrgios at the start of the fifth and final set. Drop shots, underarm serves, backhand winners down the line... this is so much fun. Can we keep playing all night please? I don't want this to end.

This has been so strong from Thiem on serve. He's been a brick wall for the last two sets. How long can Kyrgios keep his focus when he's getting so little against the Thiem serve?

What a start to the fifth and final set, with Kyrgios holding to love. He lets out a roar and then sprints to the other end of the court after the change of ends. What an entertainer he is. The crowd and singing and chanting!

Thiem has levelled the match! That game wasn't without controversy! Kyrgios has a problem with a couple of the automatic Hawk-Eye calls, especially the one on set point. It looked all the way in and then drifted just wide. That was after Kyrgios started the game with a point penalty!

Thiem will serve to level the match! Kyrgios saved two break points with some gutsy play, but then attempted a ridiculous tweener half volley pick up at the net that didn't work. That shook his focus and Thiem passed him on a third break point.

And now Kyrgios holds to love. Feels like this fourth set is destined for a tie break such is the strength both men are demonstrating on their own serve. Very few break opportunities.

Pressure back on Kyrgios. That was another comfortable hold from Thiem, but at least Kyrgios won a point on the Austrian's serve! He hadn't done that in 28 points - in over 45 minutes of play!

Kyrgios keeps the scoreboard ticking over. The serve is so important for the Australian. As long as he can keep his first serve percentage relatively high, he can keep dictating the points.

What a game that was! Kyrgios is getting the better of Thiem at the net. That's where he can win this match. The highlight was a drop shot winner which saw Kyrgios then continue his celebration into the other half of the court!
