LI 6-2 6-4 - GAME, SET AND MATCH! - Li shows incredible conviction and intensity to unleash a flurry of stunning groundstrokes and seal victory with a real flourish! The Chinese player looks ominously good at this stage of the tournament, and she is into the semi-finals where she will take on either Caroline Wozniacki or Francesca Schiavone!
-
LI 6-2 5-4 - This second set is getting incredibly tense as Li holds serve to 30 under immense pressure from a very fired up Petkovic, and now the Chinese is just one game shy of sealing victory with the German having to hold serve to remain in the match!
-
LI 6-2 4-4 - Petkovic is showing tremendous spirit as she constantly finds herself under the cosh in this second set, but always appears to be able to find a way out of tricky situations! The German fires two fierce serves down the T to rescue a hold from a slightly hairy position.
-
LI 6-2 4-3 - What a clinical hold from Li, who closes out her service game from 40-15 with two powerful forehand blows down the line, and the Chinese remains in front in this second set with Petkovic having to work a lot harder on serve.
-
LI 6-2 3-3 - Petkovic levels at 3-3, and the German shows immense guts and resilience in holding serve after an extended deuce as Li throw absolutely everything at her opponent, but ultimately to no avail. What a set this is turning out to be!
-
LI 6-2 3-2 - Li holds serve once more to edge back in front in this second set, and Petkovic is unable to find a second break of serve as she is pinned firmly back behind the baseline. Li has the momentum, but can Petkovic hold on serve now?

LI 6-2 2-2 - BREAK - Just as in the first set, Petkovic implodes after a fine start, and Li capitalises ruthlessly as she breaks serve to 30 with a cluster of powerful groundstrokes from the back of the court. This second set is back on terms, and very finely poised.
-
LI 6-2 1-2 - Li gets herself on the board in this second set with two blistering blows from behind the baseline to thwart Petkovic as the German looks to move in court and disrupt her opponent's rhythm. Li holds to 30, and that is more like it.
-
LI 6-2 0-2 - That's it, Petkovic consolidates her early break of serve with an efficient and ultimately clinical service hold to 30, and the German comes through her first test with aplomb. Li will have to get a grip now on her serve to establish herself in this set.

LI 6-2 0-1 - BREAK - Petkovic mullers two resounding forehands down the line to clinch an early break of serve in emphatic fashion - what ball-striking from the German! It's the perfect, gutsy way to respond to slipping a set behind, and now Li will have to find a response.

LI 6-2 - SET - Li wraps up the opening set with a minimum of fuss, powering a forehand cross court to move to 15-40, and Petkovic is broken once more as the Chinese makes her serve look incredibly tame with a flurry of belligerent groundstrokes. Can the German respond?
-
LI 5-2 - Petkovic strives desperately to force an immediate break back, but the German comes up short as Li pounds a flurry of powerful forehands down the line to consolidate her advantage and continue to hold the ascendancy.

LI 4-2 - BREAK - Li wins her fourth successive game in this opening set as she breaks Petkovic for a second time from 30-40, and it is a crisply-struck backhand down the line which sees the Chinese assume a commanding lead!
-
LI 3-2 - What a turnaround for Li at the start of this opening set as she recovers superbly from a sluggish first two games, and now the ninth seed finds herself in front at 3-2, with the pressure on Petkovic to hold serve.

LI 2-2 - BREAK - Li hits back with impressive resilience as the Chinese bludgeons two stunning forehands cross court to breach Petkovic's defences, and the German is utterly taken apart on serve as she sees her advantage cancelled out!
-
LI 1-2 - This is much better from Li, who moves to 40-0 with two crushing forehands down the line, and the Chinese holds serve to love with Petkovic unable to make any impression with her returns of serve on this occasion - Li is on the board!
-
LI 0-2 - Petkovic consolidates her break of serve with a convincing hold to 15, and the German makes a stunning start to this match! Li is unable to make any kind of challenge on her opponent's serve, and she slips two games down already in this opening set!
