Great scenes at the presentation as Clijsters congratulates the junior girls winner, fellow Belgian An-Sophie Mestach, and also thanks the Australian crowd, believing that she has finally earned the nickname "Aussie Kim" now that she has finally won the title
-
A clearly emotional Clijsters is sobbing into her towel as she takes in the win before enjoying a bit of a chat with Li as the presentation on the main court begins

CLIJSTERS WINS THE AUSTRALIAN OPEN FOR THE FIRST TIME!
-
CLIJSTERS 3-6 6-3 5-3 40-0 - Gutsy from Clijsters as she opens with a huge first serve and forehand winner down the line. That'll settle the nerves. A cross court forehand right onto the sideline extends her lead before a backhand across court that Li can only return long, hands Clijsters THREE CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS ...
-
CLIJSTERS 3-6 6-3 5-3 - Ciljsters slaps a couple of nervy, tight looking forehands long of the baseline before Li also hits a forehand error, into the net, to squander her first game point. But another shocking forehand error, this time off the volley, hands Li the hold. Clijsters will serve for the match it but can she control those nerves?
-
CLIJSTERS 3-6 6-3 5-2 - Clijsters is now just a game away from her fourth Grand Slam title, and first Australian Open. Li will have to serve to stay in it after a shocking decision to stop mid-point and challenge a ball that clearly lands in before going on to slap a forehand return of serve well wide down the line
-
CLIJSTERS 3-6 6-3 4-2 - Much better from Li again after a shaky start behind her serve. All Clijsters has to do is put the ball back in play on the first couple of points and wait for the Li error but the Chinese player recovers and goes on to hold with a forehand winner
-
CLIJSTERS 3-6 6-3 4-1 - Suddenly it's all over the place from Li as she completely mis-times a forehand return of serve, sending the ball well wide across court after Ciljsters had taken the pace off. And the Belgian goes on to hold to love after another forehand error from Li

CLIJSTERS 3-6 6-3 3-1 - BREAK - Li slaps down a double fault to help Clijsters earn herself a point to restore her break advantage in this final sert. And sure enough the Belgian does sneak back out in front with a forehand winner down the line. She has done very well to change her tactics in this match and get herself out of a BIG hole

CLIJSTERS 3-6 6-3 2-1 - BREAK - A second double from Clijsters followed by a cracking backhand winner down the line off the return of serve hands Li an immediate break back point. The Belgian saves it with a change of pace first serve that Li can only return into the net but she hands the Chinese player a second chance with another double fault. And this time Li does take her chance with an off-backhand winner across court. The Chinese player is back in this match

CLIJSTERS 3-6 6-3 2-0 - BREAK - Clijsters earns herself three break points with a forehand winner and while Li saves the first two, one with a forehand winner down the line and the second with an ace down the centre of the court, the Belgian does grab the break at the third attempt when Li hits an off-forehand wide across court
-
CLIJSTERS 3-6 6-3 1-0 - Clijsters is starting to flow now as she races through a love service hold to open this third set, Li firing an off-forehand well wide across court. Li was getting very irritated in the change of ends, exchanging words with Alison Lang. The main problem? The noise coming from the crowd which Li doesn't feel Lang is doing enough to control

CLIJSTERS 3-6 6-3 - SET - Clijsters has to work hard to earn herself a first set point but eventually does so by working Li around the basleine before finding a shorter forehand winner down the line. And one chance is all she needs as Li hits a backhand into the net to level up the clash. Match on now, much to the delight of the crowd!
-
CLIJSTERS 3-6 5-3 - Li got a rebuke from umpire Alison Lang in the change of ends for possible coaching from her husband and coach up in the player box. And she is beginning to get a bit edgy now as Clijsters holds to 30 when Li sends a attempted backhand lob well long of the baseline. A roar goes up around the crowd, they are keen to see this continue, and Li will have to serve to stay in this set next

CLIJSTERS 3-6 4-3 - BREAK - A couple of blistering forehand winners, the latter of which is a forehand down the line, hand Clijsters two more break points as she puts her foot back on the gas. The first goes begging when she is forced to backtrack and hits an off-balance backhand into the net but she does secure the break at the second attempt with a backhand down the line after a lengthy ground-stroke exchange
-
CLIJSTERS 3-6 3-3 - Clijsters lost real concentration at the end of the last game and beginning of this but seems to be back with it now as she holds with a forehand winner down the line. Li is still playing incredibly well though and demonstrates her quick reactions with a backhand volley at the net after Clijsters had pretty much the whole court to aim at
-
CLIJSTERS 3-6 2-3 - The very best of Clijsters as she drills a forehand winner across court to earn herself yet another two break points. Li saves the first with a solid forehand smash winner while Clijsters squanders the second with a backhand into the net. And Li goes on to hold when Clijsters misses another forehand, this time down the line and into the net

CLIJSTERS 3-6 2-2 - BREAK - Clijsters opens with a backhand wide down the line before sending two more forehand errors long to hand Li two break back points. The first goes begging when Li sends a forehand long before Clijsters saves the second with a sliced backhand drop shot that the Li cannot get up to. A forehand into the net hands Li a third chance but a ferocious forehand winner from Clijsters saves it once again. But Li grabs the break at a fourth attempt with a forehand winner
