SHARAPOVA 6-2 3-6 6-4 - GAME, SET & MATCH – Kvitova sends an off-balance backhand into the top of the net to hand Sharapova a FIRST MATCH POINT ... and Sharapova is through to the Australian Open final when Kvitova bizarrely choses a slice forehand down the centre of the court only to send it long
-
SHARAPOVA 6-2 3-6 5-4 – Already 0-30 down Sharapova makes a big call on hawkeye when her backhand is called out only for the challenge to show it was actually on the line. The replay of the point goes Sharapova’s way with a huge serve as does the next and the Russian goes on to hold when Kvitova sends another two shots long. Kvitova will have to serve to stay in it after the change of ends
-
SHARAPOVA 6-2 3-6 4-4 – Another comparatively service hold from Kvitova, the Czech sealing it to 15 when Sharapova hit a backhand into the net after a cross court exchange. Huge game coming up for Sharapova next as she has faced break points in each of her last few games ...

The former Gold Coast mayor and high-profile Lawyer Lex Bell has arrived at the Tomic house to try and sort the situation out. Tomic, meanwhile, has given a quote to Channel 7 news saying that he is confused and "it's like I killed someone".
-
SHARAPOVA 6-2 3-6 4-3 – Kvitova squanders yet another break point as she sends a fairly slack forehand into the bottom of the net after Sharapova had found the baseline. A double fault wastes a game point for Sharapova but eventually she goes on to hold, after numerous unsuccessful attempts, and sneak ahead once more
-
SHARAPOVA 6-2 3-6 3-3 – Kvitova races through a relatively comfortable service hold to 15 to level up once again and sling all the pressure back on Sharapova, who is definitely having the harder time on serve
-
SHARAPOVA 6-2 3-6 3-2 – There’s a screech of annoyance, from the usually quiet Kvitova, as she misses a forehand long to squander a break point. And a second goes begging a couple of shots later when she slices a forehand wide across court. Sharapova is really down on herself in this game but somehow she manages to recover and hold when Kvitova again sends the ball wide across court

SHARAPOVA 6-2 3-6 2-2 – BREAK – Anything you can do ...! But not in a good way as Kvitova also bashes down a double fault to hand Sharapova a break point. And the Russian does break back, almost out of nowhere as is Sharapova’s wont. We’re back on serve in this final set

SHARAPOVA 6-2 3-6 1-2 – BREAK – A seventh double from Sharapova hands Kvitova a break point. And she gets it when the Russian hits a low backhand into the net
-
SHARAPOVA 6-2 3-6 1-1 - Brilliant serving from Kvitova to get her side of the scoreboard ticking over in this third set, finding an ace down the centre of the court to seal her third straight love service game
-
SHARAPOVA 6-2 3-6 1-0 - Despite a double fault Sharapova holds for the opening game of the final set, finding a backhand down the line that Kvitova simply cannot return

SHARAPOVA 6-2 3-6 - SET - BOOM! Kvitova serves out the second set with an ace. No signs of nerves there and it's anyone's guess which way this one will go in the third set. Both players have one very dominant set under their belt
-
SHARAPOVA 6-2 3-5 - Sharapova races through a love service hold to force Kvitova to serve out the set, sealing it with a forehand winner that Kvitova simply cannot get anywhere near. Both players changing their racquets for the new balls
-
SHARAPOVA 6-2 2-5 - Kvitova races through another service hold to leave her potentially just one game away from the second set; Sharapova will be forced to stay in it after the change of ends
-
SHARAPOVA 6-2 2-4 - Kvitova makes things tough for Sharapova with a forehand winner pushing the Russian to deuce. But Sharapova does recover to hold with a forehand winner of her own
-
SHARAPOVA 6-2 1-4 – Channel 7 commentator, and sometime Eurosport commentator, Sam Smith has potentially put Kvitova’s resurgence in this second set down to the fact that her boyfriend has left her players box after the first set! Whatever it is, she holds to 15 to remain a break ahead, sealing it with a backhand winner
-
SHARAPOVA 6-2 1-3 – Kvitova backs away from the ball in order to take a second serve on her forehand instead of backhand, crunching a winner straight down the line to bring up another break point. Sharapova levels at deuce when Kvitova hits wide down the line before going on to hold when Kvitova hits wide across court
-
SHARAPOVA 6-2 0-3 – Kvitova sends Sharapova scampering across the baseline before putting her forehand down the line and just on to the outside of it to bring up a game point. And, although she misses her first serve, the Czech does go on to hold with a solid second serve that Sharapova can only return into the net

SHARAPOVA 6-2 0-2 – BREAK - Kvitova squanders another couple of break points with uncontrolled ground-strokes long but she does break at the third attempt and, although it’s still a little patchy, the Czech is landing more than she’s missing now. Momentum is really beginning to turn
