MATCH - LI Na defeats Lucie Safarova 1-6 7-6 6-3. After an abysmal beginning, she rose to the occassion and then rode the wave until the end.
LI 1-6 7-6 5-3 SAFAROVA. Unsurprisingly, it's Safarova who blinks. A double fault followed by a forehand dumped into the bottom of the net - we'll see who serves for it.
LI 1-6 7-6 4-3 SAFAROVA. Swift serving from Li to hold. At this point it seems only a matter of time before she puts it together on Safarova's serve, but the Czech is doing extremely well too.
LI 1-6 7-6 3-3 SAFAROVA. Safarova plays her part with a squeaky clean service game of her own, closing with a perfectly-measured backhand cross-court.
LI 1-6 7-6 3-2 SAFAROVA. For the first time, this match is being played with some kind of parity and general quality. Li comfortably nudges ahead.
LI 1-6 7-6 2-2 SAFAROVA. Some errors from Li, but both women seem to have perfected the art of rising to the occasion when down. Safarova holds.
LI 1-6 7-6 2-1 SAFAROVA. More accomplished hitting from Li Na now, and looking every inch the Grand Slam champion as she pulls ahead for the first time all match.
BREAK - LI 1-6 7-6 1-1. Just as it seeemed Safarova was on the verge of fading, back comes Li once again with her own suiperior brand of top level tennis.
BREAK - LI 1-6 7-6 0-1 SAFAROVA: Bizarrely, Safarova essentially picked up where she left off before the second set got tight. A break in the opening game and things are immediately interesting.
SET- Li 1-6 7-6 SAFAROVA: Despite largely playing an abysmal match, Li somehow manages to drag it into a tiebreak before easing through into a third set. Clutch.
Li 1-6 5-6 SAFAROVA: Just as it seeemed Safarova was on the verge of fading, she recovers with a brilliant service game to push her opponent and force Li Na under immense pressure.
LI 1-6 5-5 SAFAROVA: Li somehow manages to land enough balls into court with her back against the wall to level the contest.
LI 1-6 4-5 SAFAROVA's attempts at serving it out end comically as she falls apart and relinquishes her serve almost immeidately.
LI 1-6 3-5 SAFAROVA. Amid more errors from the Li Na racquet, Safarova trawls her way to the break and stands at a point awa from triumphing over a top plauer.
LI 1-6 3-4 SAFAROVA: A tight tussle of a game follows, but once again it's Li who prodces all the errors at the rwrong timess and hurts hurself.
BREAK - LI 1-6 3-3 SAFAROVA. After a long, error-strewm game, Li limply relinqueshes the break and it's back on serve.
LI 1-6 3-2 SAFAROVA. After twice barely surviving, Li incredibly breaks out of nowhere and puts herself in an extremely promising situation.
LI 1-6 2-2 SAFAROVA: Once again, Li shows her very worst game for awhile, yet sonehow she survives.
LI 1-6 1-2 SAFAROVA: Another Safarova service game, another exhibition of just how terrible Li can be on fake grass.
LI 1-6 1-1 SAFAROVA - Li immediately falls down 0-40 with a series of errors, but just about digs herself out and keeps herself afloat.
