GAME, SET & MATCH - WILLIAMS 6-1 6-2 DOLONC - Dolonc goes for broke in the match's final game, but Serena is resolute, disciplined and devastating. Despite being sent all over the court, the American wins the game to love and seals her spot in the third round.
-
WILLIAMS 6-1 5-2 DOLONC - Impressive tennis from Dolonc, who does what is required to win the game (just) and force Serena to serve out the match.
-
WILLIAMS 6-1 5-1 DOLONC - The five-times Aussie Open champion lets out a little wry smile as she continues to miss from the baseline. She then racks up her 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th aces of the match to pull away from her opponent and seal the hold.

BREAK - WILLIAMS 6-1 4-1 DOLONC - Ooooooh, that's gotta hurt! Dolonc is up 30-0, but the score is brought back level thanks to a couple of piercing Serena backhands. Things go from bad to worse for Dolonc, however, as she produces two consecutive double faults.
-
WILLIAMS 6-1 3-1 DOLONC - Her backhand may have been misfiring in the last game, but her serve is on song in this one. Dolonc just can't get anywhere near it as the world No. 1 edges closer to the win.
-
WILLIAMS 6-1 2-1 DOLONC - The 24-year-old is up-and-running in this second set, thought it's partly down to Serena's misfiring forehand from the baseline. The American misses on three attempts, allowing Dolonc another game.
-
WILLIAMS 6-1 2-0 DOLONC - Serena consolidates that early break in double-quick time. Dolonc is trying to find the lines, rather than just playing into Serena's hands. With the ball coming back at the rate of knots it tends to when coming off Serena's racquet, it's a low-percentage game.

BREAK - WILLIAMS 6-1 1-0 DOLONC - We have another break early in this second set, and it's a shame for Dolonc. The Serb does fantastically well to fight back from 0-40 to 30-40, but then double faults to concede her first service game.

SET - WILLIAMS 6-1 DOLONC - Dolonc forces the issue in what is the final service game of the opening set, asking questions of Serena. Regardless, the American comes up with the answers, bullying her way to a one-set lead.

BREAK - WILLIAMS 5-1 DOLONC - As well as Dolonc is playing, Serena does look a little out-of-sorts. She misses a couple of routine ground strokes that she'd usually make in her sleep and lets out a screech of discontent. The No. 1 seed changes it up, coming to the net to volley away and then forces Dolonc wide to seal the double-break.
-
WILLIAMS 4-1 DOLONC - The Serbian is really growing into the game and doesn't seem overawed by the world No. 1, taking it to her and seemingly winning the crowd over with some expansive shot making. Serena's booming serve gets her out of trouble, however, and she still leads by a break.
-
WILLIAMS 3-1 DOLONC - Dolonc is on the score board, but Serena isn't happy with herself. The American has two break points quickly, but fires three consecutive forehands into the net before lofting a backhand long of the baseline.

-
WILLIAMS 3-0 DOLONC - Serena isn't wasting any time out there. The five-times Australian Open champion is relentless, forcing the Serb left, right and then left again, conceding just one point on her serve. This could be the shortest long day Dolonc has ever had.

BREAK - WILLIAMS 2-0 DOLONC - 24-year-old Dolonc shows few nerves as she reaches 40-15, but stutters trying to close the game out. Serena pounces on two weak second serves to reach deuce and then bludgeons her way to the first break of the match.
-
WILLIAMS 1-0 DOLONC - A brutal Serena wastes no time in flying through her first service game. The No. 1 seed and hot favourite barely gives Dolonc a chance to get a racket on the ball, holding to 15.
