Konta 5-7 2-6 Kerber. Game, set and match. No signs of nerves from Kerber as she eases out to her first match point. And that's all it takes. The German is through to her first Grand Slam final, thumping down a big first serve that Konta can only return long of the baseline.
Konta 5-7 2-5 Kerber. A good hold by the Brit, Kerber's only point in the game a backhand winner down the line. The German will serve for the match after the change of ends but she's serving for a place in the Australian Open final - there's always a chance from Konta's point of view that Kerber will get tight.
Konta 5-7 1-5 Kerber. The German just needs one more game now as she holds for the loss of just the one point. Konta will now have to serve to keep this match alive. Important game coming up for the Brit.

Konta 5-7 1-4 Kerber. Break. Konta finds herself staring at the wrong end of two more break points. The Brit saves the first with some solid side-to-side play that eventually ends in a backhand winner down the line before also saving the second with another battling point that ends in a Kerber forehand into the net. But Konta nets a forehand to gift Kerber a third chance and this time the German does secure the double break, leaping out to a cross court forehand winner that Konta can only send back into the net.
Konta 5-7 1-3 Kerber. The German eases through a love service hold to maintain her break advantage in this second set. Kerber is potentially just three games away now from a place in her maiden Grand Slam final against the world number one.
Konta 5-7 1-2 Kerber. Better again for Konta, whose determination in this match has to be admired. She rattles another backhand winner down the line before going on to hold and keep the deficit down to just the one break. Kerber has never been in this position before either remember. It's so important for Konta to keep some scoreboard pressure on the German.
Konta 5-7 0-2 Kerber. Kerber goes long with a forehand down the line to allow Konta to level at 30-all before adds an injection of pace on a forehand down the line to bring up a break back point. Kerber saves it with a first ace, right down the centre of the court, before going on to hold and consolidate the break.

Konta 5-7 0-1 Kerber. Break. The German looks much freer again now as she quickly earns herself three early break points in this second set. Konta saves the first with a blistering backhand winner across court the races off the line as soon as it hits. But Kerber works her way into the net on the second and secures the early break with a smash winner down the line.

Konta 5-7 Kerber. Set. Kerber shrugs off a nearly five minute delay while the court was dried during the change of ends to quickly bring up three set points. She only needs the one though as she dinks a backhand slice drop shot over the net, and follows up with the forehand winner down the line after Konta had done well to get anything on the ball at all.
