NOVAK DJOKOVIC WINS THE ATP DUBAI TITLE! A professional hold in that final game, with a consummate display overall from Djokovic. Federer unable to trouble his opponent in that final game, and he was certainly second best throughout the contest. A frst serve win percentage of 83 for Djokovic (compared to 62 for Federer) tells its own story. Novak with his third consecutive Dubai title, that follows up on his Australian Open victory, and the Serb is in blistering form.

BREAK! Djokovic sends the Federer backhand into submission to secure the break. The Serb moves quickly to 0-40, as Federer sends one backhand into the net and one long. Although Federer saves two break points, which included an ace, the Swiss was always on the backfoot and Djokovic tests his opponent's backhand one more time and it buckles. Djokovic one game away from the title now...
3-4
And it's Djokovic who now fully has the momentum, as he follows up the break with an excellent hold that has Federer sending shot after shot either wide or long. The Serb has now won the last 3 games and Federer needs to regain composure now, if he is to take this Final to a third set.

BREAK! Djokovic breaks back, after Federer misses with the overhead, causing the Serb to punch the air in delight. He had stormed into a 0-40 lead in that game, following the first double fault of the match and two Federer forehands into the net, and despite the Swiss ace saving one break point, Djokovic then takes the next to make it 3 games all.
3-2
Suddenly it's role reversal, as Federer struggles to find the lines and Djokovic's first serve comes back into focus. The Serb taking the game to love, and rounding it off with a clinical overhead slam.
3-1
And Federer follows that up with a comfortable hold, although Djokovic's level from the first set has certainly dropped. At 40-15 down, the Serb sends a weak forehand into the net to go 3-1 down in this second set.

BREAK! Federer comes out all guns blazing for this 12th game, and gets his just rewards. Using a variety of shots, including chips and forehand volleys, he keeps Djokovic guessing and sends him onto the back foot. Having saved two break points, Novak's first serve eludes him and, in the deuce phase, he makes a couple of unforced errors at crucial times to give Federer the break.
1-1
Excellent hold from Federer, rounding out this second game of the second set in style with a superb forehand winner that clipsthe baseline at 40-15 that has even Djokovic applauding. Just what the Swiss needed - a comfortable hold of serve.
0-1
Djokovic picks up from where he left off in the first set. His serve is right on the money, and Federer has no response to the Serb's angle drives cross-court. At 40-15, Federer sends a backhand wide to gift his opponent the opening game of this second set.

SET! Djokovic breaks Federer to take the first set 6-3. Federer was always on the backfoot in that game, as his opponent raced to 0-30 with a couple of strong, well-placed forehands. And Federer, having saved one break point at 15-40, cannot save another to take it to deuce and that's the set for Djokovic. Federer's serving was all at sea...
3-5
Djokovic moves to within one game of taking this opening set. It was relatively trouble-free, and included a successful challenge from Federer at 30-15. However, Djokovic didn't let that unsteady him and he rounded out the game.
3-4
Despite an exquisite backhand down the line from Djokovic to take the first point of this game, Federer responds with a couple of excellent forehand winners to clinch the seventh game and remain in touch, albeit still a break down. The serve was slightly letting the Swiss ace down in that game though.
2-4
And in response, a love-game from Djokovic. Superb serving from the World No. 3 as he sends his opponent from side-to-side with no joy.
2-3
Massive hold for Federer, as he just about avoids the double-break. The Swiss struggling with the long rallies and, after saving two break points, he rounds out the game with an ace and an over-hit forehand from his opponent. Federer attempting to keep the points short and snappy, as Djokovic is looking the stronger when the rallies flow. The Fed Express also having some trouble wih his backhand.
1-3
We're still in deuce in the fifth game and Federer has had to save two break points already...
1-3
Djokovic consoidates the break by holding serve, relatively easily. There was a slight slip-up from the Serb which saw Federer move to 15-30, but Djokovic responded superbly with an ace and some big hitting.

BREAK! Well, Federer certainly looked uneasy in that game. Djokovic finding his range with some brutal backhands and forehands on to the Federer baseline, but the Swiss can only blame himself for some inaccurate hitting. To take Djokovic to break point, Federer sends a forehand long and follows it up with another miscued forehand to give the Serb an early break.
1-1
Djokovic holds serve just as easily, which included a clean forehand winner to take him to 40-15 and then a fine ace to round out the game.
1-0
Comfortable opening for Federer. He loses the first point, but then roars back and takes the opening game with a clean forehand winner.
