TIE-BREAK TIME! Players at deuce in a key game as Tsonga throws in a double fault to hand Isner match point, but the American hits the net on the return. Tsonga is long again seconds later to hand Isner a second match point, but Tsonga saves it with a brutal forehand winner. Isner brings up a third match point with a stunning winner down the line but knocks a backhand long on the next point. Tsonga staves off the match points and we head to the breaker.
5-6
Isner is going to go through this match without dropping his serve. Never really in doubt. This set like a carbon copp of the second set. 11 aces for Tsonga, 10 aces for Isner.
5-5
A love game from Tsonga to hold serve. Looks like we are heading for another break to decide this match unless there is a dramatic change in the mood of either player.
4-5
Tsonga one-handed backhand up the line touches the very back of the line, and suddenly Tsonga has three break points for a 5-4 lead. Can't engineer the ball back over the net on the first point. Has the chance on the next point but drops a forehand into the net. Glorious chance for Tsonga spurned. Isner throws down an ace to save the third break point before an ace brings up advantage. Tsonga knocks a backhand wide as Isner saves. Tsonga serves to stay alive.
4-4
A real war of attrition now to see who comes out on top here. Every game is like groundhog day. Who is going to wilt first as we reach the business end of the match? Isner with a crucial service game coming up.
3-4
Isner looking rock solid on serve despite the improvement in Tsonga's game. Another game goes by, another game won by Isner on serve. No breaks for either man yet in this set. Isner with a 4-3 lead. All getting very tense out there.
3-3
Tsonga in a spot of bother as he falls 0-30 behind, but in keeping with the nature of this match the Frenchman digs out the big serves on the key points to level at 30-30. A winning volley on the backhand side gives Tsonga game point. Tsonga sees matters out with a crunching forehand from deep. We are level at 3-3 now.
2-3
More of the same then. Couple of blistering strokes from Tsonga, but not enough to bring up the break point he craves. Isner still on course for this first final in the Masters series. Nine aces now for both men.
2-2
Another game drifts by without any suggestion of a break. Tsonga displaying an iron will with some of his shots, and high percentage of first serves. All square on serve in this final set.
1-2
Isner looks to be struggling, but looks can be deceiving in tennis as he thumps another couple of booming forehands beyond Tsonga to move 2-1 ahead in this final set. Highly impressive by the American, and once again the pressure switches to Tsonga to restore parity as we reach two hours and five minutes in this match.
1-1
Tsonga bouncing around with some relish out there as he holds to love with some ease and suddenly Isner is serving again. One bad game from either man now is likely to signal curtains in this match.
0-1
Isner gets the final set off and running with more of the same. Serving big as both men move to eight aces each for the match. Isner suddenly looking a bit tired at deuce as he knocks a couple of loose groundstrokes wide of the target. Tsonga drills a winning backhand up the line to bring up a break point with a crisp passing shot that is snuffed out by another Isner ace. Tsonga is then long with a forehand before another big serve hands Isner the initiative. He leads 1-0.

SET TSONGA! Errors on the backhand side from Isner sees Tsonga move 6-1 clear with three breaks in the bag. Isner makes too many errors at the key moments as the Frenchman ties up the match at 1-1 with an ace. Tsonga with 27 winners compared to 15 winners from the American.

We heard for the tie-break. Isner was in another tight spot at 30-30, but he again finds the answers when he needs them to escape without dropping serve. Tsonga will get this breaker off and running.
6-5
Isner will need to serve for a second time to stay in the set. Tsonga again holding firm in another game dominated by serve tactics. Difficult to predict with any certainty how this match is going to turn out.
5-5
Isner comes up with another formidable service game. Tsonga wins one point with a superb diving volley, but that does not detract from Isner's concentration. Winning points easily on his serve.
5-4
Back-to-back forehands help Tsonga to see out the game. The Frenchman is hitting top gear out there. Isner must hold here to stay in the set.
4-4
Tsonga hitting back from 15-40 down. Unleashes an unbelievable return to bring up a third break point of the match only to see it snuffed out by Isner, who hammers down a big first serve to move to advantage. Another decent return from Tsonga brings the score back to deuce. Another couple of big serves are good enough to see Isner over the line. So frustrating for Tsonga. We remain on serve.
4-3
10 points in a row from Tsonga as he races through another service game to move ahead by the odd game in seven. Tsonga has upped his game considerably, but needs this vital break.
