What a result! And what a match! Djokovic brushes Nadal aside in that third and final set, and wins his 18th match out of 18th this year! It's a third title for the Serb in 2011, which adds further weight to the argument that Djokovic is currently the best player in the world! Thanks for joining our live coverage tonight, and throughout the tournament.

NADAL 6-4 3-6 2-6 - DJOKOVIC WINS THE INDIAN WELLS MASTERS! Nadal shanks a second serve return wide, before returning Djokovic's next return long over the baseline for 30-0. A third massive serve - again returned over the baseline - gives Djokovic three championship points, and Nadal sends a forehand into the net to hand Djokovic the title!
-
NADAL 6-4 3-6 2-5 - Nadal does exactly what he needs to - racing through a quick-fire hold to move the pressure right back onto Djokovic's shoulders. The Serb will now serve for the title, and Nadal needs to break twice!
-
NADAL 6-4 3-6 1-5 - Nadal moves to within a game of a first ever victory over Nadal in a final with another comfortable hold of serve - finding a power and angle on his serve that Nadal just can't get on top of. His confidence and self-belief on almost every point is obvious, and it's unusual for Nadal to be the least confident player on court! Nadal to serve to stay in the championship
-
NADAL 6-4 3-6 1-4 - Nadal rushes into the net at 15-all but even that's not working for him now - he slams a forehand low into the net. A couple of strong serves dig him out of trouble, and he finally gets a game on the board in the third set with an unreturnable serve. Better from Nadal, but he's a long, long way behind in this set...

NADAL 6-4 3-6 0-4 - Who saw this coming? Djokovic slams a fourth ace down Nadal's throat to move four games clear in the deciding set, and he's looking unstoppable at the moment. Nadal has gone from playing electrifying, untouchable tennis in the opening set to struggling just to keep the ball in play. Nadal has made 11 unforced errors so far in this set. Djokovic? Three.

NADAL 6-4 3-6 0-3 - BREAK! What a set this is becoming for Djokovic! He takes another point off Nadal's serve straight away, before the Spaniard draws level at 15-all with one of the points of the tournament - Nadal ending a blockbuster rally with adeft forehand drop-shot. The Spaniard begins to show real signs of frustration as he hands Djokovic another break point with a wild forehand into the tramlines, and the Serb converts as Nadal's backhand from the baseline clips the net and goes long!
-
NADAL 6-4 3-6 0-2 - This is fast becoming routine for Djokovic, who rockets through a quick-fire hold of serve. The gladiatorial rallies of the first set seem a million miles away at the moment, and Nadal is actually starting to look slightly jaded in the Californian desert!

NADAL 6-4 3-6 0-1 - BREAK! An unbelievable start to this third and final set! Nadal just doesn't get going on serve, and again Djokovic is punishing the second serve. Nadal pings the ball wide to hand over the game, and the Serb is just a brick wall at the moment

NADAL 6-4 3-6 - SET! Djokovic absolutely busts a gut on his way to 40-15, but fails to convert the first of his two set points after some quite spectacular defensive shots from Nadal - pinging the ball from baseline corner to baseline corner until the Serb sends a backhand into the net. He then double-faults again at the worst possible moment, allowing the Spaniard back up to deuce. After a lengthy exchange from deuce, Djokovic finally takes the set on the sixth set point.

NADAL 6-4 3-5 - BREAK! Djokovic starts the seventh game in sublime fashion. The next world number two earns three break points with a spectacular lob, but fails to convert the first two with a couple of wayward, almost nervous-looking shots from the baseline. A vicious rally ensues with Djokovic 40-30 up, but Nadal hands over the break with a forehand into the net! That's three breaks on the trot, and Nadal's first serve percentage is a quite horrendous 25% for the second set!

NADAL 6-4 3-4 - BREAK! Wow. Nadal shows exceptional control with the new balls (and a new racquet, to boot) as he expertly lobs Djokovic on the opening point of the Serb's serve, before going 30-0 up with an equally exquisite forehand pass down the line. Djokovic steals a point back, but a wayward groundstroke hands Nadal two break points! The Spaniard wastes the first - with a lob that lands a good two feet over the baseline - but Djokovic double-faults to hand over the break!

NADAL 6-4 2-4 - BREAK! That's much, much better from Djokovic! The Serb finally gets some joy on Nadal's serve, and does so by dictating the baseline rallies with that vicious forehand - much as he did against Federer in the semi-final. He successfully challenges a forehand down the line (initially called out) to earn a break point, but Nadal saves with a stunning topspin forehand, but a couple of uncharacteristic errors from the back of the court hand over the break from deuce!
-
NADAL 6-4 2-3 - What a rally to start off the fifth game of the set! Nadal eventually nets a backhand after a quite sensational rally, but Djokovic drags a backhand wide of the tramlines on the next point to let Nadal up to 15-all. Djokovic then slams a forehand winner down the left sideline from the net, and brings up two game points with another thunderbolt serve. Nadal drags a backhand into the tramlines to surrender the game.
-
NADAL 6-4 2-2 - Comfortable start for Nadal - moving up to 30-0 with a tremendous second serve. He then wins yet another point on serve with a spectacular backhand winner down the line, which even Djokovic applauds! The Serb then returns an awkward Nadal second serve wide to hand the Spaniard another utterly comfortable hold of serve
-
NADAL 6-4 1-2 - Nadal's focus just seems to dip in the third game of this set, as he pings a backhand a good few inches wide of the right sideline to go 30-0 down. Nadal then fails to return two more big serves from Djokovic, and hands the Serb a morale-boosting service game to love. This set could go either way at the moment, but both players are having to work incredibly hard for every point
-
NADAL 6-4 1-1 - A couple of big serves from Nadal lift the Spaniard to 30-0, and Djokovic hands him another point with an awkward half volley. Djokovic just can't find a way past Nadal in these rallies, and he's being punished for it. A long return hands Nadal another love service game, and that's the 12th point he's won on serve out of the last 13
-
NADAL 6-4 0-1 - That'll do for Djokovic. He brings up a game point at 30-all with a big serve - returned into the net by Nadal - and converts with a terrific inside out forehand to the right sideline.

NADAL 6-4 - SET! Ooof, that's the way to do it! Nadal brings up three set points with a 130mph ace out wide, and Djokovic surrenders the game with a limp backhand return into the net. This match has been everything we could have hoped for so far - with both players hitting some shots that almost defy belief. The difference between the two so far is probably Djokovic's relatively limp second serve, which the Serb has only won 40% of points on. Second set coming up!
-
NADAL 5-4 - Djokovic goes 30-0 up with one deft drop shot and a vicious crosscourt backhand, before moving up to 40 with a decent second serve out wide and a looping forehand winner down the line. A massive serve snaps up the game to love for the Serb, but that won't bother Nadal one bit - he's about to serve for the set!
