Hello and welcome to LIVE updates of the 2016 Davis Cup semi final between holders, Great Britain and Argentina. The visitors have seen their 2-0 lead fade away with Andy Murray beating Guido Pella to tie it a 2-2 ahead of this decider. Initially, this was scheduled to be Kyle Edmund against Jan Martin Del Potro but captain Leon Smith has drafted in maverick, Dan Evans to play. Still waiting for confirmation on whether Argentina's main man, Del Potro is involved.

GAME, SET AND MATCH! - EVANS 6-4 3-6 2-6 4-6 MAYER. It's over. GB's defence of the Davis Cup comes to an end at the semi-final stage. Ultimately they gave themselves too much to do after trailing 0-2 on Friday evening. It was a brave and spirited fight to take it to a decider and although Dan Evans gave it his all, he was comfortably beaten by a man whose injuries mean his ranking plummet from 21 last year to 114 disguised just how good a player he is. Leo overcame early nerves to play some scintillating tennis and he duly served it out with a love hold. Argentina will now meet Croatia in the 2016 Davis Cup final.

It's now or never time for Evo. He MUST break to keep GB alive...

EVANS 6-4 3-6 2-6 4-5 MAYER. Evans does his job as he holds to love. Pressure for Mayer now as he looks to serve for the tie and a place in the 2016 Davis Cup final.

EVANS 6-4 3-6 2-6 3-5 MAYER. Leo almost teases Evo and the crowd as he misfires to give the Brit the first point. He responds in brutal fashion to take it to 15, slapping down an emphatic overhead at the net to move to within one game of the final. The writing is surely written in permanent marker on the wall for GB now.

EVANS 6-4 3-6 2-6 3-4 MAYER. Evo hanging on by a thread. Is this just delaying the inevitable or can he summon something incredible in the next few moments to force a decider? It's a tall order...
-
EVANS 6-4 3-6 2-6 2-4 MAYER. Leo consolidates with ease. Evans still not coming close to doing any damage to his opponent's serve. He needs to find something special but Mayer has just been the better player this afternoon.

BREAK! - EVANS 6-4 3-6 2-6 2-3 MAYER. GB staring into the abyss. A delightful crosscourt backhand clocks up double break point for Mayer and he converts on the second as Evo cracks under powerhouse pressure with a shot into the net. Argentina closing in on a final showdown with Croatia.

Tennis term for being frustrated beyond belief as a Davis Cup final appearance slowly slips away.
-
EVANS 6-4 3-6 2-6 2-2 MAYER. Leo not allowing himself to be ruffled. He produces short, smart points to level to 15.
-
EVANS 6-4 3-6 2-6 2-1 MAYER. Evans is digging in and gritting his teeth. He's not prepared to let this chance to be the hero fade away. He holds to 30 but needs to start making some headway on the Mayer serve. It's been far too easy for the Argentine since the early phase of the first set.

EVANS 6-4 3-6 2-6 1-1 MAYER. The arena is buzzing and there's a spring in Evo's step - but Mayer quells it almost immediately as he hold to love. It's controversial as Evans' through the legs lob is called out when it looked so close at 40-0. He challenges but after a lengthy delay it's decided they don't have Hawkeye for that point. Boos ensue as it gives Argentina an easy game.

EVANS 6-4 3-6 2-6 1-0 MAYER. No let up from Leo. He goes for the jugular and Dan twitches uncomfortably around deuce. The Brit saves three BPs and comes through a gruelling 12-minute test of his serve, spirit and desire to take the opening game of the fourth set. That was vital for GB's slim hopes.
