The 2017 Wimbledon semi-finalist is joined by British No. 2 Heather Watson, No. 4 Katie Boulter and doubles star Anna Smith as captain Anne Keothavong aims to start this year’s competition with a bang.
Latvia and Poland join Britain among 14 teams in the mix, with reigning French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko and former World No. 1 Agnieszka Radwanska both set to feature.
Keothavong is pleased with the balance of the squad and is targeting more memorable moments after Konta and Watson’s heroics in the doubles last time out in Tallinn.
"We are as determined as ever to begin our 2018 GB Fed Cup Campaign," said the former British No. 1. "I am delighted to nominate our strongest possible team.
"The format as usual is brutal but Tallinn was very good to us last year where, who can forget the drama of Jo and Heather winning the deciding doubles from three-all in the third?
"We have a nice mixture of experience in Jo, Heather and Anna, plus youth with Katie Boulter making her Fed Cup debut. We can’t wait to get started!"
The main draw will be announced on January 15, with action starting on February 7.
