So that's it. In the end, Murray wins it 3-6 6-3 6-3 12-10. Kohlschreiber walks straight off court but he certainly played his part in this titanic contest. A fantastic effort fom the Brit, both psychologically and physically, to come through that. A big win.

GAME SET AND MATCH ANDY MURRAY! Murray turns the screw and applies some pressure to move to 15-40 on the Kohlscreiber serve, bringing up two match points. As the German winds up his serve, Murray starts to move forward and no sooner has the ball come up off the court than Murray unleashes a fearsome backhand return that flies past Kohlscheriber before he knows anything about it.

MURRAY 11-10 KOHLSCHREIBER. Kohlschreiber comes up with a couple of cute little drop shots to move to 15-30 on the Murray serve. Murray fights back with the help of a fortunate let-chord and finds an inside out forehand winner on deuce. A sloppy Kohlschreiber backhand finds the net, and the German will have to serve yet again to stay in the match.

MURRAY 10-10 KOHLSCHREIBER. The German misses another smash on the first point but puts one away on the second. Murray comes out with an outrageous crosscourt forehand passing shot from way deep and wide of the court, but Kohlschreiber manages to hold out and draw level again.

Murray had missed 9 consecutive first serves until the back end of that first game. Good job he found them again.
MURRAY 10-9 KOHLSCHREIBER. Not a convincing hold but a hold nonetheless. At 15-15 Murray shows courage to take on a drive volley from just inside the baseline and catches it perfectly. From then on he nets a simple backhand and Kohlschreiber puts away a forehand to bring up break point. Murray starts to find some first serves, though, and puts the pressure back on Kohlschreiber.

Murray whacked the back of his leg with his racket as he lost that match point. He knows he needs to take his chances when they appear.

MURRAY 9-9 KOHLSCHREIBER. The game starts with Murray digging out an extraordinary forehand topspin lob to leave Kohlschreiber stranded. The German finds the rhythm on his first serve, though, and we move to deuce. A let-chord allows Murray to rush in and pass to bring up match point but Kohlschreiber holds his nerve on the smash and goes on to hold serve.

MURRAY 9-8 KOHLSCHREIBER. Murray races to a 30-0 lead before Kohlschreiber shanks the simplest of overheads. At 40-15 Murray makes his eighth double fault of the match but at 40-30 Kohlschreiber misses his return and the Brit breathes a sigh of relief.

MURRAY 8-8 KOHLSCHREIBER. The German hits back, holding his serve to 15. The crucial point in the game comes at 0-15 - an amazing long rally that belies the fact that the players have only been going for a few minutes. It goes Kohlschreiber's way, as does the game.

MURRAY 8-7 KOHLSCHREIBER. Murray loses the opening point but comes back with two big serves and a sumptuous drop shot to move to 40-15. He goes long with a forehand but finds a first serve at 40-30 and closes out from the net. Important hold, solid start.

With the scoreline so delicately poised, we're set for a dramatic one. There is no time for the players to ease their way into the match again. They'll have to instantly recapture the sharpness and focus of yesterday evening. This could be decided on who comes out of the blocks quicker.

The Brit ushers the umpire out of their chair to check, but it did just miss the line. Moments later, Kohlschreiber earns break point with successive backhand winners but Murray brings it back to deuce. Both players are running on adrenaline right now. So much passion. Somehow, the seventh seed lives on.
