Rafael Nadal chalked up a double century of Grand Slam match wins by putting Argentine challenger Facundo Bagnis firmly in his place with a 6-3 6-0 6-3 demolition job in the second round of the French Open on Thursday.

GAME, SET AND MATCH! - NADAL 6-3 6-0 6-3 BAGNIS. Rafa responds and breaks straight back to take the match with ease. The fourth seed started slowly but then flew through the middle section of the contest before overcoming a blip to easily progress to round three.

BREAK! - NADAL 6-3 6-0 5-3 BAGNIS. That wasn't in the script. Facundo has ample opportunities to break and eventually does from deuce as the nine-time champ tightens up and the Argentine goes for broke. The scoreboard looking much more respectable for Bagnis (just don't look too long at set 2).

NADAL 6-3 6-0 5-2 BAGNIS. Facundo ensures the scoreboard isn't quite as brutal as it could have been. Rafa to serve for the match next...

NADAL 6-3 6-0 5-1 BAGNIS. The torment is almost over for Bagnis. Rafa one game away now. Ruthless efficiency from a man who could yet prove his doubters wrong at this tournament.

BREAK! - NADAL 6-3 6-0 4-1 BAGNIS. Another break for Nadal. Bagnis volleys a stray ball away expertly with his feet. That's the best shot he's played all day and it was the wrong sport!

NADAL 6-3 6-0 3-1 BAGNIS. Rafa cruising along in second gear now. He doesn't need to any higher really. It's a simple enough hold to 15 and a routine straight sets triumph is edging closer.

NADAL 6-3 6-0 2-1 BAGNIS. ON... THE... BOARD! Bagnis bags a rare game with some sound serving to avoid the prospect of another bagel.

NADAL 6-3 6-0 2-0 BAGNIS. Rafa makes hard work of it for the first time in a while but scorches a rasping winner down the line to take the game from deuce after Bagnis had got excited at double break point.

BREAK! - NADAL 6-3 6-0 1-0 BAGNIS. There's a flat atmosphere inside Chatrier. There's not much of a match going on and the spectators are trying to entertain themselves between games... Nadal breaks again to open the third. Not long left in this one.

SET! - NADAL 6-3 6-0 BAGNIS. A deep first serve does the damage as Rafa hungrily claims the bagel to roar into a two-set lead. This hasn't been much of a challenge for the nine-time champion.

BREAK! - NADAL 6-3 5-0 BAGNIS. Anyone after a lunchtime bagel? Rafa can smell one it seems. The Spaniard sees on BP go begging but like a dog with a bone refuses to let Bagnis have any respite. The Argentine can't build on making deuce and sees his hopes of sparing some blushes all-but evaporate.

BREAK! - NADAL 6-3 3-0 BAGNIS. Some have nicknamed Rafa, Spain's raging bull and it's as if that early break right at the start of the match was like waving a red flag at the nine-time champion. It's proving too big an ask for Bagnis as Nadal claims the double break on his second BP with a cute angled volley at the net.

NADAL 6-3 2-0 BAGNIS. Facundo screams in disappointment and frustration as he timidly sweeps a return into the net to allow Nadal to consolidate to 15.
