So I guess that's about us - join me again at 2pm BST for Garcia-Pliskova and Svitolina-Halep, followed by Murray-Nishikori and Cilic-Wawrinka.
As for Djokovic, he disappeared pretty quickly - it'll be interesting to hear him explain that capitulation, but let's not take too much away from Thiem. No other player managed to elicit it, and it's about time we had a new challenger.
Thiem also notes that in the wind, it was important to hit the ball hard, and explains how difficult it is to go deep into a Slam. "And it's not getting easier on Friday."
So, Thiem will play Nadal next. "It's amazing for me," he says. "I had an 0-5 record against him."

THIEM 7-6(5) 6-3 5-0 DJOKOVIC Thiem is not hanging about. He races to 30-0 and then a horrible backhand from Djokovic gives him THREE MATCH-POINTS! But Djokovic finds something and saves the first at the net. BUT THEN THIEM NAILS ANOTHER BACKHAND PASS AND HE IS IN THE SEMI-FINAL! WHAT AN AMAZING WIN, AND WHAT AN AMAZING PERFORMANCE! TEH DEFENDING CHAMPIONS IS OUT.
THIEM 7-6(5) 6-3 5-0 DJOKOVIC One of the greatest fighters tennis has ever seen - one of the greatest fighters sport has ever seen - is searching for himself, and getting nowhere. It is very difficult to watch, except for the fact that Thiem is realising his dreams, which is amazing to watch. He breaks for the third time, and wil serve for the match shortly. I think he might just make it.
THIEM 7-6(5) 6-3 4-0 DJOKOVIC Djokovic just hasn't recovered from losing that first set, and it's another easy hold for Thiem. There is not the slightest sign of an imminent fightback.

THIEM 7-6(5) 6-3 3-0 DJOKOVIC Oh my. This is O-V-E-R! It's 0-40 quicksmart, then Djokovic hits long on the backhand, and, well, one doesn't to say it, but he's gawn.
THIEM 7-6(5) 6-3 2-0 DJOKOVIC They reckon in commentary that Thiem is playing to win and Djokovic is playing not to lose; an opinion underlined when he wins the first point of the game. He then chucks in a double-fault, but a powerful service restores his advantage, there follows another quick point, then an ace, and he is absolutely flying!

THIEM 7-6(5) 6-3 1-0 DJOKOVIC This is looking good, not only for Thiem, but for Nadal. Not only has he had most of the day off, but while he sits there in his espadrilles, he also looks set to enjoy the departure of the only man in the draw who he fears. Anyway, Djokovic rallies from 0-30 down and salutes the crowd after a huge point won with a smash, trying to get himself going. But seconds later he still has to save a break-point, only for Thiem to respond with a marvellous oblique backhand slice, hit cross-court from the baseline and dying just over the net. Whatever happens in the end, he is playing the match of his life here! Djokovic saves the ensuing break-point, though - this is a crucial juncture - only for another cross-court backhand to raise another! And this time, Thiem converts! All he has to do is hold his serve a few times, and he's hame!

THIEM 7-6(5) 6-3 DJOKOVIC: So, that is Thiem two sets up and edging towards a second Grand Slam semi-final. Here is the Thiem point that secured the first set for the Austrian.

THIEM 7-6(5) 6-3 DJOKOVIC: Thiem is well and truly on it, here. Two outrageous winners bring up two set points for a two-set lead. He doubles the first but a tremendous wide serve sees Djokovic prod his return into the net. The 2016 champion is in real trouble here.
-
THIEM 7-6(5) 5-3 DJOKOVIC: Djokovic holds to love and this is now a huge game for Thiem. Can he serve it out?
-
THIEM 7-6(5) 5-2 DJOKOVIC: There is that resilience from Djokovic, though. He manages to construct a break point but Thiem defends it. It is illustrative of the match as whole that whenever the pair go toe-to-toe, the younger man comes out on top. He thunders down a forehand winner to claim the game.
-
THIEM 7-6(5) 4-2 DJOKOVIC: Djokovic holds to 15 but he still remains unsure – and his starting position seems just a that few yards further back than usual.
-
THIEM 7-6(5) 4-1 DJOKOVIC: Thiem holds to love and all the momentum is with the 23-year-old.
-
THIEM 7-6(5) 3-1 DJOKOVIC: Djokovic on the board in the second. He holds to 15 but this is looking increasingly bleak for the reigning champion. He has hit six unforced errors in the second set already and just two winners.
Thiem plunders another point after huge rally
-
THIEM 7-6(5) 3-0 DJOKOVIC: “It is embarrassingly one-sided,” says Eurosport commentator Simon Reed. And it is hard to argue as Thiem holds to love.
-
DOMINIC THIEM 7-6(5) 2-0 NOVAK DJOKOVIC: Another double from Djokovic brings up a break opportunity for Thiem. However, while Thiem’s power continues to trouble the Serbian, the world number two continues to dig deep but it is not enough. Thiem shows great athleticism and no little guile to get to a Djokovic drop shot and return in kind to claim the break.
