GAME, SET AND MATCH! - NADAL 6-3 6-4 6-0 THIEM. The King of Clay bats aside the young pretender, Thiem with a straight-sets demolition in two hours and eight minutes to book his place in Sunday's final. The nine-time champion kept his dream of La Decima alive with a controlled victory, hitting back from 30-40 down as he served it out to clinch a third-set bagel and set up a Sunday showdown with No.3 seed Stan Wawrinka.

BREAK! - NADAL 6-3 6-4 5-0 THIEM. The bagel is ON. A supreme crosscourt return winner tees up triple BP and the Spaniard concludes a break to love with a forehand rocket. He'll serve for the match next....

NADAL 6-3 6-4 4-0 THIEM. A second ace of the match, and two devastating overhead put-aways are the pick of the points as Rafa consolidates with a love hold. This match is over.

BREAK! - NADAL 6-3 6-4 3-0 THIEM. It's a double break and you have to feel sorry for Thiem. The crowd are getting on his back as he struggles to make it competitive. He has chances at 40-30 and from deuce to get on the board, but Rafa is like a dog with a bone. He refuses to give up and fist pumps with joy when he makes the most of a BP.

NADAL 6-3 6-4 2-0 THIEM. This is the Master teaching the apprentice (... on clay) a lesson. They've gone toe-to-toe recently but in a best of five at a Slam Nadal has been light years ahead. It's another love hold as the nine-time champions consolidates easily.

BREAK! - NADAL 6-3 6-4 1-0 THIEM. It's looking bleak for Thiem. He needed to get off to a flyer in this third set, but his lack of consistency is proving costly against a ruthless Rafa. He offers up another break point and once again overcooks to the baseline to put Nadal in complete control of the match.
